Jo really cares about her students and wants to see you do well. She is extremely caring and understanding. A little difficult to understand at times, but if you ask for help it is there. Definitely show up to class, as she will show you things and help you with the homework that you could otherwise miss.

People on this site sometimes over exaggerate. Her lectures are fine although sometimes it gets boring as you might know the things already (html, python, excel, binary addition). Very easy course, I'm lazy but I had no problems with the homework Don't do the project the last week. Book: fluency with it I got about 95%

Jo's really nice and will joke around a lot. Very down to earth prof. Don't always understand what she's trying to say... but all of her slides are available on Moodle so you can interpret them for yourself. If you're short on time/not really interested in compsci, don't take this course!

I had ZERO programming experience. You just have to make sure you are 100% participating in the labs. If you don't understand the material, you may have to do some extra research on your own time if Jo is not clear with explanations. She is pretty helpful in class and she's always very positive. Do not slack and let your teammates do all the work.

I'm currently taking her comp 106 and she just assigned a lab where unless you had prior knowledge of Boolean expressions the lab was impossible to complete. THANKS JO.

I'm currently taking her class and so far I'm enjoying it and learning a lot. I like that she pays attention and tries to make sure that everyone is learning and participating so yu don't have any stragglers in class. As long as you do the reading materials she assigns and participate in the labs, there should be no issues.

Don't even no where to start. Jo is the most frustrating professor I have ever had. Lectures don't make any sense, the labs are something people just shuffle through and leave without understanding anything. Lastly, she believes that people are either good at the course or bad. I think as a professor it is her job to teach not fail students.

she is very loud, to the point that can cause a headache. if you want help, you have to state specifically what you need help with. your code can be right but if it is not the same as hers, it is wrong and you will not get any marks.

Jo is super nice and it is evident she wants everyone to do well in her class, especially if you are trying your best and looking to improve... but she can be (almost always) VERY difficult to understand as her English is awful at best. If you are savvy at computer science, take her class... beginners beware though.

This teacher is very helpful. Her email responses are very quick and she's willing to help you with any type of problem you may have on the tutorials or assignments. I highly recommend this course to people with no prior programming knowledge looking to get a taste of what programming is like.
