Never took an art class in my life and passed with an A. Supplies are not expensive if you go the store (Blick?) that she recommends. Spent less than $100. She will give you a good grade if she sees that you are making an effort and following instructions!

requires many expensive supplies. gives lots and lots of assignments each week. expects everyone to already know how to draw. doesn't teach you what to do- will go over it quickly, doesn't even know what shes doing herself. gives no individual attention unless you call her over and she scrutinizes your work and says you can do better.

First off, every art class requires you to spend money to do the work. Some classes make you spend more than others.Thats what it takes, so expect it when you take any art class. With that much said, she seems a bit mental at times, but she's not bad. I would take her again. Wants you to get the work done and show the best you can do.

She will make you regret being an artist. Very unhelpful, expects more from you than she is willing to give, does not act appropriately emotionally in front of her students, and is a pretty lousy artist herself to boot (google her). I have no problem saying that my experience with her is the worst I have ever and will ever have in college.

made me regret taking the class...took away our spaces made us then figure it out...is to opinionated but then does nothing to back it up...pretends to be a strong feminist yet cowers at the chance a man tries to over power her say...doesnt stand up for the class....would of been the best experience if another professor taught it

expects alot. i am not an art major and some of her projects are very challeneging and time consuming. she can be helpful at times but also very critical and has criticized students in fron of the whole class. if you are not an art major stay away, she is very hard on you.

Read the chapters and you'll be fine, midterms and finals are essays you can easily bs through w/o studying. You do learn a lot about art history, trip to the Met sucks though. She allows 3 absenses and then reduces your grade. Shes very nice.

i had a very disagreeable time with her, finding her to be a limiting and narrowing teacher. She gets along very well with art majors, so if your an art major, maybe you can get along in her class. otherwise, i would suggest Wada instead.
