If I could have been forewarned, I wish someone would have told me that her exams are extremely difficult. They are very hard and best policy is to overstudy for them. If you think you've studied enough, you haven't. Sometimes she can be insensitive so be careful of what you say. You learn a lot in her class however. Tough class.. learn a ton!

Class was fun. Prof. is super nice, intelligent and helpful. The class was a little scattered and lacked the structure I am used to. I have to be honest, I didn't take a whole lot away from the class, but it is a very specialized class soooo. Being a specialized class I thought the prof. taught it well.

Joan is one of the best teachers that I've ever had. She is very passionate about her subject matter, which, in turn, makes her students want to do well in her class. Because of her I have a better appreciation for others' dialects. She keeps it real and stands up for what she believes in.

She is the best teacher that I have had in my entire college career. She makes a hard subject much easier. She keeps your brain ticking and she makes you feel like you can do anything. She loves what she does, and she is not afraid to speak her mind. Sh is very down to earth, and very motivating.

Dr. L-W is by far the best teacher I have ever had in my life. Very helpful to students, especially when they take advantage of her office hours. Linguistics should expand into its own department headed by Dr. L-W. Openly passionate, extremely knowledgeable, funny, and ALWAYS willing to listen.
