Pretty funny teacher. Am I the only one that understands her humor? Show her you care and so will she. I'm not naturally good at math and I did well in her class. I guess I would grow to fear her laugh if I didn't take the class seriously. And I suppose you shouldn't take the course if eye-contact is important to you?

The WORST professor I have ever had. She has zero ability to teach, she does something on the board, skips steps, and then wastes class time with in class work with material you don't understand. If you are not doing well in her class she WILL NOT help you in any way. If you go to her office she is often demeaning and never helpful. Should be fired

Difficult to follow at times and never makes eye contact. Always stares into the back corner of the room which can be distracting since she is not engaging. Gets off topic at times and speeds through material. If you go to her for help she will help you. She's a nice lady if you get to know her. She is more about theory than practical application.

From K-junior in college i think shack was the worst teacher i have ever had. very hard to listen to and speaks very softly. she tries to help but will not help students who are not top of the class. i took her for calc 3 and had to withdraw because of such low grades. took it the next semester with a new teacher and got a b. same thing for diff eq

if your good at teaching yourself out of the book take her class. her teaching style is as old as she is and i just couldnt relate. enjoy 16wks of her staring into the upper corners and monotoning it. you will learn to hate her laugh. im not trying to be bitter just wish i had a review like this to read. Take yoder or hampshire.

She is an excellent teacher, always willing to help, very plesant! Her passion shines through in the linear alebra portion of the class. I do wish she made more eye contact.

Her class was pretty easy, she gets a wrap as being pretty hard, but the tests are VERY easy if you do some of the homework. She is also fair in her grading. If you have a chance take one of her courses. Warnging: she doesn't make eye conact during class, sounds wierd but you get used to it.

By far the best math prof I've ever had! If you have an option, always pick prof Shack! She's always willing to help you both in and out of class. If you every have trouble with anything, she will make herself available to help you with it. Do the homework she assigns and you'll get through any class.

Great teacher. First she would introduce a topic and do an example on the board, then she would give an example for everyone to do and walk around the room helping anyone that needed it. It worked really good because I never left class confused. Also, she is very willing to help during her office hours.
