Good professor. He's extremely helpful, and you will do well if you use the review questions as a study tool.

Joe is a fantastic professor. He's very helpful and makes it clear that he wants to help you get a good grade. Getting a decent grade is easy enough, as long as you're willing to put in the time. Lectures are generally pretty interesting, but sometimes they're a yawn. The field trip isn't very interesting or helpful.

He is a decent professor, but doesn't lecture very well. The lectures are "mandatory" in that I couldn't pass the class without attending them. He draws a lot of really helpful diagrams though, which helped out a lot. You have to have a LOT of time to devote to this class to get a great grade.

The lectures are very boring. If you want to do well then go to them. If you are just shooting for a C don't bother to go to lecture at all. Skip the field trip and do the make up project. It only takes a few hours.

Other then the field trip to acadia,I thought that he was quite interesting. He is a really nice prof and teaches usful information. I'd rather go to labs then lectures

Easy class. Joe is very nice and really cares about his students. He has all class materials online and if you print them off, lectures are easy to follow and lab information is useful in lab. He's always encouraging students to make use of his office hours and the TA's as well. Great teacher overall!

Stopped going to lectures a week into the class because they were unbearable. So dry, talks so fast, and most of what he discusses isn't on the exams. You're better off staying home and learning all of his material on his WebCT supplement. Lab is an easy 25% though.

GES 101 (now ERS 101) is a very easy class, and Chernosky does a very good job explaining things. Also has lots of interesting pictures on his slides to show us, which helps because his lectures are a little dry.

Joe is such a nice guy. I was often the last one left in lab and he stayed and helped me learn the material. He never made me feel dumb or like a burden. The only negative comment I have is about the field trip to MDI. It sucked and was a waste of time!

He lectures way too fast, no way you could ever catch everything. Good guy, but not exactly my favorite professor. Not something I'd want to go through again.

Very helpful professor. Knows the material almost all from memory. Always willing to help you as much as he can. But lectures very quickly....it would help to have a recorder to make sure you catch everything....tests cover a lot of material.
