I had a rough start to the term due to family tragedy and I think he thought I was lying him about that and was very cold and unfriendly to me. However, after I showed up for every one of his lectures he seemed to come around and was helpful, friendly and pleasant. Not a hard marker - if you can write a decent paper, you'll do fine.

By far the nicest prof at MUN. He was extremely helpful and you will learn how to write in his class. The history element of the course is not the main point, rather you are there to learn how to write and do a research paper... enjoy the ride and be sure to attend class because that is worth 10%.

I had this guy a couple of years ago for 1013 and it was a great experience. He learned names and would sometimes ask you for your opinion in class. Despite what some people say hes NOT a hard marker; 25% of the class got A's on the paper, which is good for a history course.

I went into this course thinking I'd do well, or at least better than I did being a History major (and now graduate student), but I was unpleasantly surprised by my experience with him. No question he's a nice man, but he was monotone, boring, and a very tough marker. I guess it all depends on your individual experience. I am indifferent about him.

This course is a bit crazy. There is little to no history done in class, he mainly talks about the assingment. The final is halarious, don't spend a lot of time studying cause its not worth it. He's not clear, and tries to give help but is still quite confusing. Other than that, he's a cute smiley old man that kinda looks like Santa.

Mediocre prof. Really nice man, but he doesn't really teach. Just shows slides & videos. Mainly talked about the assignments all semester and barely taught any other material. Fair marker. Tries his best to help you if you go see him though.

He's very boring, he doesn't really teach anything, he imposes stupid criteria on assignments that should be quite straightforward and simple, he goes too far for a 1000 level course, very inconsiderate! He does appear to be friendly but has a sossy grin.

I went into his course with high expectations of a good experience, and was let down. He is a friendly man and a decent lecturer, but I got burned on my assignements which I thought were good and comparable to my other grades. I can't say avoid, but I don't whole-heartedly recommend him either

At the start of this course, I would have been pretty rough on him. Seems disorganized and rambling, but it's just a matter of getting used to him and his style: take notes from his words, not from the (empty) board, sit back, and enjoy the lecture. Wise, kind man, with a lot of knowledge to share.
