I respect this man completely. He is a brilliant musician and conductor. He tries to instill the most incredible lessons pertaining to music and life in general in every single one of his students. Is an exceptional teacher. Any student that is lucky enough to study under him should be incredibly thankful to be in the presence of such brilliance.

A brilliant musician and conductor who puts education and performance ahead of whiny little undergrads who can't take it. I learned so much from him. Not a man of exceptions, and this is probably what caused most of the negative comments on this page.

Mr. Hermann is an honest to god enigma. He is a good musician and a good conductor. People who say that he is the best are simply drawing on limited experience, and may be prone to overstating things. Hermann makes ensembles sound great, but he has totally chewed out people for no apparant reason (or a poor one). Draw your own conclusions.

Mr. Hermann is pretty cool. There are a lot of mixed opinons about him, but I enjoyed his conducting. He really knows a LOT about music. He knows how to make is sound awesome. Mr. Hermann likes things to be done right, which is good with music... He can be very funny or very serious. Regardless, I liked him a lot.

You can put in years of work for this man, and see nothing come of it. I was an exemplar professional and I can tell you that, while Mr. Hermann is indeed a wonderful musician, if you are not a part of his clique than you can't expect much. Makes it a popularity contest, only he's the only one allowed to be popular.

Mr. Hermann is absolutely incredible. He's one of the best musicians I've ever met in my life, and the man is incredibly passionate about his art. It's an extreme pleasure to play under his baton...Truly a pleasure. As long as you're professional, you'll do very well. Those who've posted unpositive comments probably did something stupid.

Have dealt with him indirectly in Marching Band and Concert Band. Knows his Music, and is a great conductor. Good guy and cool to hang out with.
