Lectures are full of rambles about his personal life and his health but not enough time was spent on teaching. I paid for a tutor and still struggled.. even after retaking! When I went for help he said "no extra assistance will be given to students, try harder". I worked hard and even switched my major concentration to avoid ever taking him again!

Dr. Ressner is nice. BUT his lectures are not clear, his exams are 75% multiple choice and he does not curve at all. Theres no real opportunity for partial credit, he's unorganized and his lecture is very confusing. I retook organic 2 with Dr. Goodson and I'm very glad I did.

Great guy and positively charming in many ways. Lectures are clear cut and slower than other professors which is fine even with the ACS in 232. Has some health issues that may interfere with his mood or class effort but what can you do? Tests and class are hard like all other Orgo's. Homework and extra help are recommended. Best Orgo professor!

Dr. Ressner has a good pace when he teaches. He uses the blackboard rather than PP which is very helpful. You will get the most out of this class if you take the time to visit him during his office hours. He is always willing to answer questions.

He really breaks down his lectures. Will give you the concept, definition of it, and give you a few mechanisms. Goes pretty slow but I feel it's a good pace for such a hard subject. Crammed the last 3 tests into the last month of the semester. Is available during office hours for help. I suggest taking a tutor anyway, orgo is tough no matter what.

Ressner is a helpful, approachable professor. I would take another class of his... so long as it wasn't Orgo I! I didn't do well in the class because the information was impossible (it was my first introduction to organic) but he really tried to help though a lot of info was crammed into a short fall semester.

Ressner is a cool guy! I am taking him for orgo 2 now. He really helps you by giving yo his own pre tests so that you have an idea of where to focus your studying! I got an A in the class. The final was hard because he teaches slower than the other teachers. Also not very helpful during office hours.

Dr. R, combined with rigorous DAILY study sessions, is key to your success in orgo. But, if you can't dedicate time to study daily and want an A in the class, do not take orgo, because you won't get it. Orgo is hard, and while Dr. R will give you all the tools to succeed, the ultimate burden is on you. Study and do all book problems and you are OK.

Professor Ressner is an amazing professor. He's tough, but gives you plenty of opportunity to succeed. He's in love with chemistry and it's contagious! He makes himself very available to answer questions and to clear things up from class. When he opens his mouth, it's like he's firing a machine-gun of knowledge into your head!

One of WCU's best. He is an amazing professor who clearly has a passion for teaching. The course itself is not easy, but he explains everything as best he can and is always willing to help. Take him!!

Ressner is the best. His quizzes and tests can be really difficult but he lets you drop a test and your quizzes add up to a test grade at the end that can replace the test grade. If you dont study hard, you will most likely fail the class. But Ressner is very helpful if you seek help! Definitely recommend.

One of WCU's best professors. He explains the material extremely well and is very helpful. Also a really nice guy, but can talk too much, moving off track. Always willing to help students at office hours. Makes a difficult subject a lot easier.

Strong teacher. Explains concepts clearly. Gives students time to copy drawings in their notes. Does not use PowerPoint, prefers to write on board, which is always more work for the prof. Doesn't waste class time. Can be humorous, but also sets a firm tone in class, never loses control. Frequent quizzes help people stay on pace. Worthy of respect.

Dr. Ressner is the best organic professor, seriously. He's always willing to help, just go to him. Very fair grader, doesn't curve but allows 1 or 2 drop quizzes. Quizzes weekly but he tells you what they'll be on. Gives practice exams-exams very similar to those and work done in class. Don't bother with any other organic professors just take him

I took Orgo as a 5 week summer course with Dr. Ressner and he is the best organic prof at WCU. He made sure everyone understood everything. Exams were "easy" if you studied and knew the material (as easy as OChem gets that is). I can't wait to take him for Orgo 2.

I had Cichowicz for Ochem 1, and when I took Ressner for CHE 232, I realized how much a great teacher can make a difference! He went through everything in detail, and did not move on until we all understood everything. Went to his office hours a lot, and he was extremely helpful! Best teacher to take for Ochem in my opinion!!!!

I took dr. ressner both semesters of organic. He was an extremely good teacher and gives plenty of time in class to understand things because he goes so slow. He relates real world stuff to his lectures to make it interesting. He drops one test or all the quizzes.no curve. You will get a better grade with Ressner but know more with Goodson.

Dr. Ressner is awesome! No, it isn't easy, but it isn't meant to be. He makes you learn the material but is very reasonable. Take Dr. Ressner for orgo and you will be glad you did.
