Comment:

Honestly, there are profs out there who truly want their students to succeed. Prof Shore is not one of them. I've never received below a B+ in any course and ended up with a C+ in this one. That was through tons of studying, attending lectures and doing problem sets. Final exam was difficult and so were his midterms. Wont be taking his class again.

Dude has intense tests. But in reality, if you make the effort to read the textbook and do the problem set, you will get a decent grade.

This guy is alright cause the course he teaches is pretty dry and boring which isn't his fault. He knows what he's talking about but he never speaks loud enough and it is hard to hear him even from the front, he mumbles. Plus he is obsessed with a silly statistical analysis program from 1994 which he forces you to use and evaluates on midterms.

He was an alright prof, the first couple tests are also ok if you pace yourself. However the exam was one of the hardest I have ever written in my life, it was also graded equally as hard and there was no curve. A good mark before the exam will not save you as the exam is worth 50% of your final mark. Be cautious and avoid taking him if possible.

Dr. Shore was very clear with his lectures and the material on the tests reflected this. However, the course material was often boring. There were no surprise questions on his midterms but the final exam was harder then expected. Overall, I wouldn't mind taking him again.

Comment:

Good prof. His lectures are mostly clear, informative but boring at times. Attend every lecture and make very detailed notes. Study those notes along with the textbook and getting past tests is a must. Midterms were fair (Similar to past tests), but the final exam was much harder. However, AA+ is very attainable. I got an A.

he's terrible the course is easy but he's terrible worst prof I've had in my university experience so far thank god the course was easy and the text was ok . He takes off marks for rounding incorrectly which brought me down but an A+ is possible with reading,practise and knowing how to use a calculator>_<

Dr. Shore is an okay prof. He does his job in teaching the material, but does little to captivate student interest. I don't really blame him since stats is quite dry. I found the 1st test easy (mostly M/C) and the 2nd and final (S/A only) challenging. The textbook, on the other hand, is wonderful - filled with summaries and interesting examples.

He just repeats what the text book says and he follows it in the same order mostly. The text is great. He is beyond useless when it comes to emailing for help. The first test was hard, the 2nd and 3rd were much easier. Overall, do not take it with him if there is a better option or if you can wait another year/semst for a diff prof.

I've had him 2x now & he's so boring and mumbles a lot. He seems like a nice guy until he does smthg wrong & has too much pride to admit he's wrong. His tests are hard & he puts things from the TB that he didn't mention in class so TB is mandatory. He explains math well but drones on about his boring plants. Wouldn't take one of his courses again.

Again, I disagree with most of the comments. I agree that he might be boring, BUT he DOES know his stuff, and if you do what you should and stay awake, the exam would be an easy one. Fair exam, but a few trick questions. Although not compulsory, reading the textbook helps. I got an A

I like him. He's a super easy prof if you actually go to the lectures. Teaching isn't his strong suit, though. Not because he doesn't have a good understanding of the subject matter; he's actually quite eloquent for a bio prof. He just seems to be uncomfortable in positions of authority and is thus not very commanding.

He's a pretty good prof, but you HAVE to show up to class and you have to listen to him. First mid-term was tough but the second one and the final were easy. All multiple choice exams. Study hard and an A or A+ is definitely achievable. I thought I was going to do poorly in this class and I got an A+

I don?t know wat u guys were smoking in his class. He is the worst prof. has no interest in teaching. If u have a choice take it with Tamara Kelly her class average almost 20% higher in the fall. class ave 4 1st test was 56%. It can?t be that noone studied. I use to think prof couldn't affect ur grades as long as you study, but I was wrong.
