Very boring and hard to understand lectures. I didn't find the test bank until the 3rd exam which I got a B on, and before that I studied the lecture notes intensely and did poorly on the exams. Would not recommend this course.

These lectures were BORING. I did not pay attention. His notes that he posts online are hard to follow. I couldn't even tell you what I learned about in this class. He barely changes his tests from year to year so that made this class much easier. He randomly took attendance. He's a nice, kind of quirky dude.

Attendance was only mandatory on certain days. Tests are straight from the lecture. If you study 2 days before the test, an A is easily attainable. Nice guy and the material is actually interesting even if you don't think you're interested in plant biology. I would definitely take him again.

LOVE this man. Seriously the easiest biology class I've ever taken. He's super sweet and super approachable. Attendance is mandatory, but really if you go to class and then read through his lecture notes (which are online) before exams, you don't need to study much.

I enjoyed this class. Tests weren't bad because they always came straight from lecture notes. He was usually good about pointing out important things during class and explaining them well. I would recommend him and this class, especially for Biology majors who need it to fill a requirement.

I really like this guy. He is extremely nice and helpful. He is very willing talk you through a subject. You can obviously tell that he loves the subject. Class can get a little boring but the subject (to me) was very interesting. He does take attendance so be prepared for that. This isnt an easy class but if you study you should do fine :)

Very boring class. Post lecture notes but for those of you who can't get previous test then also take your own notes, it helps. Drops lowest test. The best thing about this class is the last test is not cumulative!! :) He enjoys teaching about plants.

Not a very hard class. Do not waste your time going to class. He never takes attendance and he post all his lecture notes on the net. Exams come straight off those notes. 3 exams (lowest dropped) and a final. Very nice teacher..extremely boring lectures!...bring ipod or magazine if you attend!

He is a good proffesor and is very enthusiastic about plants. You can tell its his passion. If you can get old tests then u can get an A, he uses the same questions every semester. He has 4 variations of each test. SO try to get ahold of two previous tests from other semesters and u will be very well off. His lectures are boring!!!

A good professor if you're into botany. Very helpful outside of class. His tests are easy and directly from the notes. If you're not interested in plants, you will find class boring. If you're looking for a plant class only to fill a req, take 420 with Dr Stratmann, it's a lot better than the other options. Avoid 671 if you're not serious.

Class is pretty boring and often challenges my ability to stay awake. He is into the material and sometimes reads interesting articles but it just doesn't translate to the students. Tests require a solid amount of studying. He says this class is easier than BIOL 425 and while it probably is, it's not easy.
