Final was kinda nonsense, wish it pertained to more of the homework we have done, but most of it was fair. His lectures were hilarious. I am happy to take a class with a very renown math professor. It is worth your time to write down the derivations he does, they may come up on exams.

This guy is the goofiest professor I've ever had. He starts his lectures with a cool math theorem, and then blasts right on through to vectors/gradients/etc. The midterm and final are almost exactly like the practice ones he gives you. And 40% of your grade is dependent on clickers + homework. I've never had clickers in Math, until I met Mr. Baez.

He is an amazing professor who obviously has a lot of passion for mathematics and teaching. His lectures are fun and engaging. He explains everything slowly and in depth so there is no confusion. He gives easy clicker quizzes both during lecture and discussion. His tests were easy, and it shouldn't be hard to get an A in his class.

Dr. Baez is very enthusiastic about his teaching and incorporates humor into his teaching. Attendance was mandatory for this class (you would receive negative points for not showing up for a quiz in lecture), but the quizzes were very simple. He explains concepts thoroughly, and holds review sessions to help you prepare for exams. Great professor.

Although he's a total dork, Baez is AMAZING! He really cares about math and it shows. You don't need the book because he explains everything perfectly. There are some quizzes, but he usually does similar examples before. Highly recommended!

This guy is amazing. he is he best teacher i have ever had. makes things really easy only reason i got a B in his class was cuz i forgot to do some hw and I didnt remember how to do some things on the quizzes. if you take him dont buy the book he gives you everythig you"ll need. look over the stuff from lecture and do your hw and you'll get an A.

he was a great professor! he does not require you to come to class, but you HAVE to go! seriously! b/c he gives pop quizzes during class if not enought pple show up, and if u miss it, he gives you negative score. it's not even a zero! so just go and write ur name, u'll do fine, but seriously, if u miss those quizzes highest grade u can get is a B.

Dr. Baez is an excellent professor. He is very clear and enthusiastic in lecture, which makes the material interesting. The only time I needed to open the book for this course was when I needed to get the homework problems. This midterm and final was just like the practice.

This professor is one of the most wonderful math professors at UCR. I love taking his class because he was so clear and helpful. He would make you enjoy math if you ever had him. If you're failing one of his math classes, don't even think of taking math. By the way, Baez is so wonderful that he shouldn't even retire.

Great Professor. Tries to make math interesting, sometimes fails at it, but he does his best. The exams are easy if you do the review sheet. Random quizes in the discussion were annoying. Other than that his class was easy. And sometimes interesting.
