If you want to get an A do ALL, and i mean ALL of the problems in the book. He assigns odd numbered questions for homework but his tests and quizzes consist of questions from the even numbered questions in the book. Do them all and you'll do fine.

Very unhelpful with questions and likes to belittle students. He will go on rants for about 20 min. a day. He can get very angry sometimes and it's a headache. However, I was doing very poorly at the beginning and I improved and he gave me an A. He will take participation, asking questions, and being interested into consideration.

The non-sequiturs. Good lord there was a lot. If you were bad at trig, you're going to hate this guy. I saw him chew out students who didn't know the basics. For people who have had ap calc classes in high school, this class is a breeze.

Dr. Breckenridge was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. I honestly don't understand why people are complaining, he made very straightforward exams, and there were never any surprises. He does go off on tangents though, but you'll get used to it. I'd take another math class with him any day!

He knows how to explain very well, but he gets very angry and blows up at almost every single question anyone asks. Goes on tangents about comp software and laziness of students these days. Gives barely any partial credit on exams, so even if you know the material well, if it's not a perfect answer, you won't get anywhere near a good score.

I am a 4.0 honors student, got a 34 on my ACT... got a C in his course and I worked very hard. He is negative,condescending, and enjoys embarrassing/bullying students who have questions. It's very hard to focus in class because he goes offtopic then quickly changes subjects and teaches a new section. Most people dropped, only math majors were left.

Not the easiest math professor, however he does know his stuff. He does go off on his rants, which can get pretty frustrating to listen to, but other than that he's a good professor. You actually learn from him rather than just pass a class and forget the material later. I would recommend him to those that actually want to put effort in the class.

He is a decent teacher and his exams are straightforward, other than that hes an insecure moron. Enjoys embarrassing students who ask questions and every lecture he goes on rants about either A) Elementary school students could do this. He's extremely clear on everything! If you don't pass the course with him, you either didn't try or you're not going to pass it with any teacher. The only fault is that he tends to go off on tangents (no pun intended) and starts talking about computers, but if you can get past that, he's definitely one of the best teachers you will ever have.

Don't be afraid of this guy. He knows his stuff. And yes, avoid asking dumb questions and don't come to class if you don't plan on paying attention, he'll notice. Do the assigned homework, understand the process that the homework represents. Quizzes and tests are based on the HW but with a few new things to test your knowledge of the subject.

As long as you do the homework (it's not mandatory) and pay attention in class, you'll do fine. He is very clear in his explanations, and his tests and quizzes are fair. Lack of calculators on exams are only detrimental to those who use them to program equations in. Don't ask stupid questions, he'll likely mock you and go off on tangents.

Ok this guy is the best math teacher I have ever had. He is crystal clear in his explanations, the tests for the most part are easy. No homework, he asked our class if we wanted quizzes or not so it's the students choice. However bear in mind that you will have to work, you will have to know your stuff, and if you will you will be rewarded.
