Tough but fair grader. Great profess for Intro to Soc. Very helpful and approachable in office hours. Lecture heavy class, but he can make most of them interesting. Participation matters, and he always gives everyone a chance to say their thoughts. Great man.

Bruegges is an extremely intelligent and passionate professor. He has a lot of enthusiasm for what he teaches. At times, his lectures can be confusing (due to content), but he is always happy to clarify during office hours. He is a tough grader, so I definitely suggest proofreading papers numerous times and meeting with him about course content.

Brueggemann is a fountain of knowledge. He is inspiring, he is captivating, he is articulate. Brueggeemann values participation and loves listening to what others have to say. Work hard for your final paper, but weekly summaries are easy to pass. His classes are the ones people don't want to skip because he is amazing.

As an incoming freshman, he was wonderful. But expect to work hard. There are always a lot of readings to complete, and he likes classroom discussion. While he is smart in sociology, he is not the best at explaining papers and the like-- if you are confused, see him in private. I am taking another class with him this semester too!

When my cousin went to Skidmore he became a Sociology major just because of John Brueggemann. Brueggemann is the best professor I've ever had. He is funny, wise, understanding, and knows everything about his subject. He's wants to help you and gives good advice. I would happily take another class with him.
