Had this guy in the late 90's. He was passionate about the material and never destroyed my confidence. He's one of the teachers that I've often thought of over the years. If I was going to teach I'd try to emulate him.

Very entertaining demonstrations. Prof Caffo is very eccentric but loves physics. He teaches very random yet interesting facts. Hard to follow at times but is more than willing to help during office hours. I love physics after taking this course! If I had taken it earlier it would have been my minor.

Comment:

Phenomenal teacher! He did a good job at organizing his Astronomy lectures, AND he was able to find a way to give extra credit to a class of about 200 students or more! He tends to ramble sometimes, but otherwise he has a lot of good things to say. I would highly recommend him for Astro 101, and I would even try to find him for Physics too!!

professor caffo expects physics to come as common sense and does little to encourage students if it doesn't. he often loses his track of mind and does not finish examples. tests are hard and difficult to finish in the allotted 50 min. he does however have online homework and participation that saved my grade

Prof. Caffo is awesome! Interesting, intelligent and funny. Of course Physics can be difficult but if you've got to take it, then take it with Caffo. He does a lot of neat demonstrations.

This is the easiest class at UNM. memorize the homework assignments (which are not required to be turned in) and you will an A+. I can't believe there are professors that give away A's as easy as Caffo. He gives you all the test questions in class. He is also very passionate about this subject so you will learn something if you pay attention.

Interesting professor. Be sure to attend all his classes because he tells you exact questions that are on the test but won't repeat them on another day. Has worksheets for you to do in order to study for the test, and that's pretty much the only thing the book is used for.
