I took a couple of classes from Dr. Caputo. He's a very nice guy but very unorganized. He lost things and wasn't up to date about subject matter information. He talked a lot but he didn't really teach in that class or the other one I had with him. Mainly class discussions. Easy A if he can keep track of your assignments and participation points.

Comment:

Dr. Caputo loves what he teaches, and he knows his subject. His classes were some of my favorites at Gonzaga. He encourages you to explore and grow throughout your coursework, and his door is always open. This man is a rare breed. I wish there were more professors like him.

Caputo provided insufficient info. on tasks & assignments (which were verbal rather than written)& didn't provided opportunities for clarification (he was unavailable). Most often when he was present, he was intox-icated @ dinner or the piazza. He appeared to have "favorite" students & employs his sons as help. He "loses" assignments submitted.

He often said assignments weren't turned in, after he had responded to the email in which it was attached. (This happened to many of the students.) He was not available most of the time and on the rare occasion that he was, he did not provide any helpful feedback.

Dr. C is the best. He was very insightful, very informative. He would speak with me over the phone or via email for any questions that I had. My thesis topic was rhetorical criticism of the Apostle Paul and Dr. C helped me acheive my goal of pulling together a wonderful thesis which will be useful for my PhD dissertation. I cannot thank him enough.

Dr. Caputo is enthusiastic about this course and a nice guy. While the content of this class was good, the professor was not helpful at all. He is very unorganized, sometimes loses papers and assignments are unclear. This semester we were so behind on the syllabus that we didn't get to half of what was planned and only used 1 of 2 textbooks.

I loved Dr. Caputo! He is very passionate about communication and is actually very funny. Just a few easy quizzes, one research paper, a midterm and a final. I enjoyed this class! He is a great professor.

You would hope that a communication professor would be able to communicate well. This guy cannot communicate at all. Maybe it's the online format but he doesn't respond to questions in a timely manner and gives exams at very odd times. Like posting the exam on a Saturday evening and having it due on Monday morning. He is awful as an online teacher.

Dr. Caputo is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. This class is very fun and interesting, you learn a lot, and he does fun exercises. Dr. Caputo is an easy teacher and very he brings humor into the class room. Class consists of field exercises, 3 short papers, research project, and a final.

I've had Dr. Caputo twice and I have mixed feelings about the courses. At times the content is great but when students are asked to teach the class for weeks on end in group projects it feels like the professor isn't working very hard. Very unclear.

I have a problem with a man who is teaching communication, but has a problem speaking. His instructions are always unclear, and he doesn't know how to reword them. I get better instructions from my 4 year old nephew!
