Caserta is HILARIOUS! He has no filter, so the class is always interesting. You have to read a few novels, so obviously, there's a lot of reading. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests, and the only assignments are summaries of the chapters in each book. This class is seriously impossible to get any grade less than an A.

Funny guy. While neither homework nor attendance were mandatory, per se, if you don't go to class, participate, or submit a few pieces of literature, he gets "disappointed." No in-class work, very easy to pass. Mostly read other works and watched YouTube videos of poem readings, and class always got out earlier than the scheduled time.

terrible professor, he taught the same class(343) and one class got to watch movies every week in class with no exams and the same class at a different time had to read 4 novels and take hand written essay exams as well as a hand written final that end up being 8 pages long, not a fair professor, very poor teaching tactics

Barely went because all we did is listen to youtube videos of people reading poems and stories. Super boring, but really easy. Class never lasted more than 20 mins. He wasn't very clear about what he wanted for the portfolio so it was kind of confusing

Great professor. He definitely holds you accountable for knowing/using proper grammar, etc. Tough grader if you do not follow his guidelines. However, there are only 3 papers the whole semester, plus a research project at the end. Great topics to choose from (chocolate, sex toys, wine, etc.) Very willing to go through your papers and give advice.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Class always got out early..very early..and you only read a few short stories and write a few essays. The final paper topics were crazy/fun topics. I did mine on the history of silverware and others were tatoos and such. Easy class and a great professor.

A simply great course. Dr. Caserta lectures were interesting, clear and stimulating. Interesting material about violence and literature. Out of six english profs I've had, he was heads above the rest. Great instructor.
