Comment:

While John is very knowledgeable, he does not make a good teacher. He is ultimately disorganized and unprepared. We missed over a hundred-year span of curriculum in history class by the end of the four semesters. Amazingly, he frequently left us alone in the classroom with part one of a test to create the rest of the test while we were taking it.

John is a very smart guy but not the best teacher. He needs to learn to budget his time better. He is always late for class and is never really organized. He has his favourites! He seems to get nervous infront of the class sometimes.

John is an amazing teacher and a great person. He is more than a little disorganized and quite eccentric. But he is willing to go to the ends of the earth for any student who truly wants to learn. He's a true genius and true gentleman.

John ca. 2007 on the harmonic scale... my God on the first day of class he drew a diagram on the board teaching us how to pronounce his name... i cracked the frig up. he rocks! plus he gave me a perfect score on my harmonic dictation so now i'm exempt tuesday mornings...

What a wonderful man. Very sweet, hard-working, brilliant and he loves music! Very insightful and helpful. He and Barrington-Foote are definitely worth studying with. Just a note though: if you're a vocal major, run for the hills from Queen Cow Erica Northcott. Her emotional abuse will put you in a psychiatric ward.
