Intelligent, inspirational, hilarious, and teaches with an open mind, Dr. Lange is someone I truly respect as a teacher and as a man. It was truly an honor being in the last class he taught and glad to be exposed to his teachings.

correction: Professor Lange shared with us his appreciation Walter Kaufman's understandings/interpretations of Nietzche, whom he was a student of while at Princeton. Philosophy is not easy, but amazing. Take this class if you are serious about it!

Professor Lange is a wealth of knowledge about, I am pretty sure everything by now. Make sure to bring a dictionary. His attendance is not mandatory, however if you miss it you will be missing out on some potentially life changing stuff. His interpretation of Nietzsche is awesome. Very helpful. Teaches you topnotch philosophy basics.

DO NOT take this class unless you intend on being a Philosophy major. Handwriting is practically impossible to make out and he is often difficult to interpret. Very smart man however.

Please do not take unless you're a die hard philosophy fan. His lectures are super boring, he speaks very monotone. He gives only a midterm and final, no other grades so if you do poorly your grade will suffer. He refers to himself as jack even though his name is John

the best professor I have had in my education so far. This guy singlehandedly rekindled my interest in philosophy and my interest in Nietzsche. Surely the only reason other students cannot appreciate Dr. Lange's sophistication can only be said to possess no intellectual curiosity. His tests are easy if you come to class and absorb

One of the best professors I ever had, he was undoubtedly one of the toughest, but also made the course an amazingly interesting one! Dr.Lange has a PhD from Princeton and as you might guess, the class is going to be a tough one. But also remember, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". It's still not impossible, I was a freshman and got an A.

He was a really enlightening professor. I'm going to be honest though. I think a lot of people on here rated him overly well and overly bad. He was an awesome professor, he just has bad writing and is too smart (crazy vocab when speaking) for his own good. If you aren't cut out for learning, want to skip class, or want an easy A, don't take him.

I feel compelled to review Lange. I fear that someone might miss out on an oppurtunity to actually learn in the COLLEGE classroom. He is a BRILLIANT man with a genuine desire to teach students new ideas. He advocates open-mindedness and teaches in that reguard. I strongly recommend taking his course if you are interested in the subject matter.

I honestly would not recommend this professor to anyone unless philosophy is your passion in life. He has a very monotone voice and I guarantee you will be knocked out in 10 minutes. I could barely understand what he was talking about and his handwriting is ILLEGIBLE. There are essay type questions for the midterm and final. I would not take him.

This professor is geared toward philosophy and he is tough. He is also extremely helpful and funny. You are required to take what is in your program for a reason. You should want to become a well rounded individual. The point is to learn, not to end up with an A from a class you learned absolutely nothing from. That isn't fair to you or anyone else.

"you kids ask around, and you figure out which classes to take that require the least work to pass. Then, when graduation comes, you stand up there on that stage, you accept your diploma and you walk away with everything but an education" -Lange. I loved this guy, he will introduce the foreign concept that you actualy have to work in college-Tough

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! Very hard to understand with his Chicago accent and made references to philosophy as a German way of life...SCARY and his two exams during the semester had nothing to do with the incomprehensible books. STAY AWAY!!!! He will lower your GPA for no good reason at all. This man should not be teaching!!!
