Comment:

Tests were pretty easy for me. Do the homework and be able to use the knowledge you get. He is willing to help as long as you show genuine interest. Material was easy to digest because of his teaching method. There is always group interaction every class. I barely needed to go to his office hours because of how easy he taught the material.

Comment:

Best professor I've ever had. I changed my entire degree because his classes were so inspirational for me, and I even ended up studying abroad in France after taking his class. He's so caring and loves to teach. The classes are a lot of work but absolutely doable, and I look back so fondly on his classes. I adore him, take him if you can!

Mr Mcminn is awesome. You work in groups normally once a class period. Homework online after every class, not hard and really helps you retain the information. Two oral exams. Class participation matters in order to not fall behind. Put in the work you will get an a. My favorite professor I've ever had.

Comment:

Great professor! His teaching style resonated with me, and after the poor quality of high school language classes, this experience was refreshing. You have to work to do well, but if you're learning any foreign language, you can't expect to soak it up overnight. If I pursue French further, I will absolutely take McMinn again.

Comment:

Professor McMinn is by far the best professor I have had. He genuinely cares that you understand the material and will explain it as many times as you need. There is a lot of homework and you must participate in class, but he makes it fun and clearly explains his grading criteria.

An excellent class. I have learned so much! The work is not very difficult and extremely effective. (Although a bit time consuming.) He is the most organized prof I have ever had, (I recieved my final grade within hours of the last test) and his lectures are very clear and detailed, with insight into etymology and cultural! 5 star teaching.

This professor is the best! His classes are fun and very engaging. Be prepared to be called on a lot, know all your vocab, and always be prepared for class. He assigns online homework every day and has quizzes everyday. The tests are fairly difficult unless you study very hard and know your stuff!

Prof. McMinn is an excellent professor! Expect to have online homework due every day until the end of the semester, along with quizzes at the end of almost every class, as well. Don't miss class or you'll fall behind bc he covers an entire section. Exams can be pretty tricky sometimes. Not an easy A, but definitely worth taking him!

McMinn was honestly the best professor I've ever had. He gives a fair amount of homework, but if you work hard and go to class, it isn't too difficult. He's a good teacher and a good person and I highly recommend taking one of his classes.

One of the best teachers I've had at ACC. He keeps you on your toes at all times, will call you at random to answer questions, encourages group activities, and homework assignments are can be done online. SWEET! Really recommend this prof.

Although he's a great teacher, the homework that is assigned is online and a lot. What I find frustrating is that the online homework can give vague instructions. Luckily I had taken Spanish in high school. Exams for me were easier than quizzes. I wouldn't suggest taking a six weeks course.

Fantastic personality, is very professional and straightforward but is able to have a good time with his students. DO THE ONLINE HOMEWORK. This ends up adding up a lot in your final grade. Tests are difficult, learning the vocab and the basic rules are imperative to doing well. Really wonderful person and fantastic teacher if you want to learn.

The best class I've taken at ACC so far. Mr. McMinn is incredible kind and understanding. Very generous. I HIGHLY recommend this class. He is strict and the class is tough, but it's not in a bad way. He deeply cares about you and your grade. He wants you to win! And if you give as much as he gives to the class, then there is no way you can lose.

Great class! Prof very engaging/keeps you interested in material and gives lots of examples. Tough but worth it: there's quite a bit of homework, which you. must. do. It isn't just busy work -- the homework really gets the information to stick. Don't try to do it last minute and you'll do great! Clear textbook. Prof answrs q's when you have them.

Very good professor but exams are hard and he nit picks answers so you need to study hard for an A or know Spanish. Overall as interesting as any other Spanish class. Gives handouts that help, which he created and is there only if he knows you tried. Attendance and textbook mandatory.

Comment:

Seriously one of the best french teachers I've taken over the course of 5 years. I took upper level french in High School so I had an okay grasp on the language. Yet he really drilled in the essential vocabulary, verbs, and grammar needed. Highly recommended.
