Morgenstern was an interesting professor to say the least. He is very knowledgeable, but his lectures can often go over your head. His expectations are ridiculously high. Don't expect an A unless you write a paper that he wishes he had written. No matter the grade you receive on papers, the feedback will be the same. Note, you will be using texts.

Don't email, he won't reply. Loses papersjournals sometimes. Walks in the class at one minute past the start time, talks until the class is over, and then leaves. Laughs at his own jokes occasionally. Doesn't promote active discussion, even though he clearly has a lot of knowledge he could share. Could have been a great class, but blah blah blah..

Morgenstern is probably one of the worst teachers I have had. He made me so disinterested in going to class. He made everyone talk during class and would purposely call you out and embarrass you in front of the class if your answer didn't agree with his. He is very opinionated and does't encourage his students to form their own opinions.

Hes a great professor, however daily attendence is required or it will deffinately show upon your mark, (those who dont show up daily, drop out). He deffinately does have dirty humour, but hes a very understanding professor and if you take good notes and base your thesis papers upon them, you'll have no problem getting a B or higher.

Makes me hate english, a subject I once loved. He is boring, tries too hard to be funny, if your writing is not what he expects, you pretty much fail. Not only that but he is very dirty minded which disturbs me.

This prof is definitely hard! I took him first year univ, and his marking is hard, but he expects a lot from his students. Definitely agree about the opinions part- you should agree with him, or have strong argument to back up your reasoning!!!

the worst professor i've ever had and more than likely the worst prof i will ever have. He thinks he's absolutly halarious and laughs at his own jokes and then questions why his students aren't laughing. He makes comments that only geoffry chaucer would understand and then complains that his entire class doesnt understand. Never take his class!!!!!

i was really looking forward to this class, but morgenstern is the worst prof ever! he thinks that he's funny, and he's not. he's a very picky marker, and if you don't share is opinion you don't stand a chance at getting a decent grade. sometimes i wonder if he even reads my papers and assignments... He's brilliant and is my favourite professor. I have never felt discouraged by him; his high expectations inspired me to produce work that I thought I was incapable of. His classes are always interesting and challenging.
