Clearly an intelligent man, but very dull. If he tells the class to 'consider' a specific concept or problem (ie: grandchildless gene), know it inside-out because it WILL be on the midterm/exam whether he discusses it in depth or not.

Theres nothing wrong with being well-versed. I looked forward to his lectures every day. He should be teaching all of 1030 and 1040. He could probably teach some philosophy, the way he makes you think. I would reccommend him to anyone who doesn't have to take him anyway for 1st year bio.

Contrary to what seems to be the popular opinion, I really enjoyed his usage of the English language. Plus, he has some amazing slides. He seemed to be a very fair prof.

i've only had one day with him so far.. but he seems to have a lot of unresolved issues. uses big words to make himself sound smart.. but just makes you waste more energy trying to decifer him

Eventhough his lectures feel like he's just talking to himself outloud, listenting to his thoughts are more helpful than most lectures I've been to. He challenges you to be the most consiencious scientist possible. Wish he wasn't retiring soon. He rocks!

Pulls out random questions on the midterm, ie GRANDCHILDLESS GENE, so I submitted my paper to Larson for remarking, she didnt know what to do with it so she passes it on to Phillips and it takes him 6 weeks to mark - had to email the Dean to solve it.
