Comment:

He is a very caring & considerate teacher. He is willing to work with you & will help you out if you ask him questions. He gives TONS of extra credit in both the lab & lecture classes. He does not use the textbook or Northwest Online so you need to show up to class to pass. He gives study sessions before the exam which covers 90% of the exam.

Pope is one of the best professors ever. He goes off powerpoints, and if you just take word for word notes on your computer you will be golden. He gives a quiz about once a week which are very easy. You can get a lot of extra credit on quizes. Tests are a little harder but not bad at all. Most questions are pulled directly from the quizes.

Pope is hilarious. He gives HELLA extra credit. He never changes his quizzes so if you find someone that has the from the semester before, you are golden! His tests are just the quiz questions all put together-extremely easy. For such a boring class, he makes it easy to pass with an A!

Very intelligent and INCREDIBLY helpful. In his earth science lab, you receive a lot of one-on-one help, and is incredibly approachable. Very reasonable, and worked with me to help make up a missed quiz. I definitely reccommend him as a lab instructor.

He is a very nice and helpful guy. I didn't really have to put in very much time, and I have an A. There is a mid-term and a final. 11 labs and online quizzes for each. Labs take me around an hour, you leave when you are done. He lets you work with partners. Online quizzes are very easy. Great teacher :)

Excellent instructor. He had fast deadlines due to a short summer session. A unit due every 3 days, but he graded extermely fast. He also understood if you had a situation that arose that caused you to miss a deadline. He gave an extension, which was a grade saver!

Great man, even better professor. in class or lab is always willing to help you out. he seems to make the most tedious stuff interesting. you will learn a lot if you take him and still make a good grade if you attend this class, THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD POSSIBLY FAIL IS IF YOU DONT SHOW UP. i mean honestly people go to class!

Very easy class. Just show up everyday and you'll end up with like...15+ extra credit points. Take looooong notes during class..but you won't need them. Go to the study sessions!!! He'll tell you everything you need to know on the test. Everything. Easiest 'A' ever. Nice guy though. Goes over some interesting stuff.

I would recommend Dr. Pope for anyone taking a geology class or lab. He is a really nice, easy going person who is always willing to help you out with your homework. He isn't very good at emailing people back but if that's the worst thing a professor ever does then heck I still say he's pretty darn cool!

His class is fairly easy. He has a study session before each test & gives every answer to you. There's usually 2 quizes per test with 10 questions each & those questions are always on it. There are 4 tests. He lectures from powerpoints & shows several videos. He gives plenty of extra credit for showing up to class. He's boring, but easy to pass.

I understand his general geology class is really easy, but I never took it with him so I cant really say. Hes not so easy on his upper level classes, but teaches well and does everything he can to help you out. Great classes if you have an interest and an overall great professor. Could this class be even more of a waste of time? It's great because you can just show up in his class, take bare-min. notes, then the tests and quizes are cake. The only needed advice is to listen to the little side pieces of info he gives, those are the majority of the test questions.
