i did not get a reply to an email i had sent asking for help on a concept. lecture notes were not provided which made studying cumbersome. the readings did not seem to overlap much with the lecture content. i also thought that psychology of law was not conducive to the multiple choice tests we got, and that short answer would be more suitable.

I've taken PSYCH 230 and 459 with Dr. Rempel. I was extremely unimpressed when he went on a tirade about plagiarism, saying that students who cheat deserve to work in McD's. He was a mediocre lecturer and a slightly harder marker than other professors. I do not recommend doing an hons seminar with him as he is boring and bad at leading discussions.

Talks very fast & does not put any lectures on learn. 4 tests with very difficult MC questions. Tries to trick you with the long wording of questions. Option to write a paper. Expected to know all of the examples he gives in class. Lectures seem to go in a circle and sometimes don't make sense. Make sure you go to the lectures and bring a laptop!

Dry lectures, lots of theory and things to consider. Need to know all the examples he talks about in class.

I like him very much as a lecturer and a person. If Burris was teaching this class alone, it would be even more difficult and less clear. Rempel is great in describing suff and always happy to answer questions. Burris is the opposite. Great union though. Very interesting class. Tests are toughs, no bonus marks.

Enjoyed the class. Interesting lectures and NO final! He rather would have 4 in class exams rather than 3 midterms and be stuck at the university for one final. The exams weren't bad if you did all the readings and went to class on a fairly regular basis.

Lectures are interesting and thoroughly explained. He doesn't assign too much reading so it's easy to study for the tests.

Great lecturer, very motivational and funny. Content was extremely interesting. He only does multiple choice tests which are difficult, you must really study and understand the content. It's totally worth hearing him speak, he's awesome.

He seems to know his content, but doesn't know how to teach it. His lectures are very confusing just because of the way he speaks, contradicting every sentence until he comes up with the right way he wants to say it.

The class was interesting, but Rempel was not good. I got the impression that he didn't want students to succeed. He would put questions on the test that he never taught and weren't covered in class ever. I'm a 90s student and attended all classes and read all readings and did fine but not as well as I expected or wanted. I do not recommend him.

Talks to the class like any other prof, but often in circles, repeating the same thing over and over again, only to have it never touch again. Tests were confusing, contained a lot of application knowledge, and were often ambiguous or vague. Didn't love this class. Read the textbook, went to class, still didn't do too well.

Fantastic prof. Was worried that there were no PPs to dl in advance, but if you attend class he's not hard 2 follow. Uses lots of examples, fair exams (provided you take notes and do all readings). Helpful during office hours as well. Has a soul -extended due dates for final papers! And the material couldn't be more interesting. Def recommend.

Straightforward and fair. Not the most interesting and energetic but is very clear in his lectures. Wouldn't avoid him but also wouldn't follow him. Difficult marker

Dr. Rempel is a great professor. I have had him for 3 classes now. There is no denying that his tests are tough and that he isn't the easiest marker; however, if you know your stuff you will be fine. He doesn't use powerpoint for slides and probably never will. He is very good about meeting outside of class and is very helpful in meetings.

Uses humour to light up a dark class. Very interesting. But paired with Burris, their tests aren't easy no matter how much you think you understand the course.

I've taken numerous psych classes and his interpresonal psych class is by far the WORST one. He has no notes; it's all him talking and the text does not overlap AT ALL. Disappointment.

Very smart! You need to attend class and read the textbook to do well. Lectures at a good pace so write down as much as you can, his tests are based more on what he says than the text. Go to his office hours, he is very helpful. Tests can be tricky but overprepare and you will do really well.

terrible lecturer. lectures are circular arguements unrelated to text material. i studied the textbook, went to class and still achieve 20% less than the rest of my classes. midterms are rediculously worded and unfair. did not measure how much i learned at all! loved the text though. as for rempel, quite possibly the worst prof i've had. AVOID.

Had him for psych and SMF... he flips a switch - AMAZING in SMF, not so much in Psych. You can clearly see where his interest lies. He talks at a great pace for note taking (no PwrPt :) and is quite clear. Only ever humourous in his SMF it feels like. Night and day difference, really. Good guy, but wow, clearly loves SMF classes waaaay more.
