If you don't like buying the books and think you're gonna be able to pass, you have another thing coming. He is a tough grader and makes you work for it but he is a great professor. Makes you think a lot more and is very into his work.

I took a few of John's classes and he is an awesome professor! I wish my high school history teachers had been like him; I probably would have paid more attention. He is very engaging and picks good novels to accompany the texts and other material used in the class. One book he assigned has become one of my favorites. He's a wealth of knowledge.
