He is by far the worst professor i have ever had. He will not grade any assignments for months. he did not follow his syllabus by any means. I would strongly recommend not taking any of his classes.

he is a great teacher. he does grade thoroughly. i thought i only needed one book i didn't see the other book until it was too late so you really do need the rules for writers book but overall its a great class and you do learn the aspects of writing. my favorite assignment we did was analyzing visual images that was a lot of fun

Honestly goes on about random things during lectures that isn't relevant. Basically you'll be doing small assignments more than writing actual papers...

He is not bad. There are a lot of little assignments that can help your grade. He can be a tough grader but the ladies in the writing center know what he is looking for. You can always go to his office at anytime and ask for suggestions. He talks a lot. Nice guy though. He can help you learn to be a better writer.

I have always done well in English classes, until this semester when ENG 102 was my hardest class. He is a nice guy, but the class is not worth taking if you don't want your GPA to go down. The class seems easy at first, and you think all is well until you get your essay #1 back. If you want to be successful, I recommend taking Erica Mueser.

Professor Scott is overall a nice guy who really loves English. However, he does take forever to give back rough drafts and takes off MANY points for one error. You can go from an A to an F just on formatting and documentation. Also, he is not good on giving updates on your grade. I did not know my grade until 3 weeks before the semester ended.

He was really nice. However, dates were unclear about when assignments would be due. He would also take a long time to review your rough draft. So when you would turn in the final draft, you'd get hundreds of points taken off. Easily going from a B on the whole paper, to an F because of the penalties.

Comment:
Professor Scott is a great man with a heart for teaching. The quizzes are normally easy because some are open book. However, if you miss a quiz day he will not under any circumstance let you make it up. Instead, at the end of the semester he drops your lowest grade. I will say he is tough on papers but we are in college so what do you expect.

He was a great man overall, although he could be unclear at times. Gives regular quizzes over grammar and library resources. He's very specific about what he wants on Essays so i'd talk to him after you submit and rough draft or go to the tutoring center (more than once) to get a good final draft.

Assigns lots of homework and is tough on grading. He takes forever to give essays back and does not tell you what is wrong with your writing/ essays just writes numbers form "rules for writers" above mistakes and says to go to the tutoring center to get help. I got A's on all of my grammar tests but then got C's on papers for "grammar".

Very boring guy. His class was really easy. Never grades anything on time. We never really had much of anything to turn in besides four essays. Most worksheets were based on if you had something written down. Would take this class again. VERY easy class.

He grades unfairly and tried to tell me that a description is a universal theme.I have received a B on every paper, be sure to go by Diana Hackers rules for writers grammar and not that from high school and you will be OK, He's kind of a grammar Nazi (even if he says he's not, he is)

Class is pretty much optional considering he talks about NOTHING. Four Papers assigned all semester and a couple open book quizzes here and there. Teacher grades papers (I think) extremely unfair. Learned nothing in this class and would not take it again.

I've yet to drop out of a class but this guy made me want to so badly. Made me write tens of thousands of words on heavily poilitical subjects that I had no clue about. Spent hours more on it than most classes require and feel like I learned nothing about english. Did learn plenty about immigration and economy though. Cant stand this guy

Obviously passionate about his job, he assumes that his students feel the same, assigning extra papers over spring break in case we "get bored" He gave out the most homework I've ever received, and grades each paper unforgivingly. I've yet to talk to another student that has received a grade better than a C.

Grades unfairly. He said he uses UK'S grading scale,we are a community college NOT a University!! You have to be accepted into UK you don't have to be accepted at Comm Coll. Needs to be more leniant.
