Pretty radical in political beliefs completely unrelated to the class. Big ego. People seem to find him funny, but I find his behavior rather unprofessional for a college professor (continuous swearing, bringing political beliefs into class, etc). Many lectures/test questions have nothing to do with the class topic. However, easy A's.

He's absolutely hilarious and loves doing impressions of the foreign people he takes his quotes from. Took it for my lab and literally did nothing. Show up to the labs and you get a 100. His class was the only one i could make myself get up for at 930. Definitely take him.

Hilarious professor, cusses like a sailor. A lot of reading but expect a lot of test questions to come from his lectures. i did not read many oft he readings but found myself being able to find many answers in my notes. all test are online, and attendance is 25 percent of your grade. aka go to class. drops lowest test grade. Easy A with some effort

He's very knowledgeable about what he is teaching and can be pretty funny in his lectures. The labs were interesting and easy to follow. He assigns a textbook to read but you may or may not need it. Participation to lectures is not required but you will miss information if you miss the class. Not a hard class if you pay attention.

Took his course online this summer. Intense and lots of reading/watching materials, but if you read and watch videos you will do well. Take notes along with the videos as reference for the tests as you would in a traditional class.

Passionate & informative, Dr. Marks teaches his students to be critical of information given, especially in regards to scientific exploits. One interest of his is the eugenics movement, which was viable science during it's time. We look on it now in disbelief, but who's to say in 100 year we won't look upon science today in the same way? A+ prof!!

Dr.Marks , Dr. Fuentes, and Dr Starrett are the BEST anthropology professors any student could ask for... and Dr. Marks is the funniest one hands down. He is brilliant and makes the subjects he teaches very interesting. I took biological anthropology and anthropological genetics with him..all the tests are online but are tough but fair also is hot!

This was the worst class I have EVER taken at UNCC. I took his Intro to Anthropology online and it was brutal. The topic itself was interesting, but his tests were completely unreasonable. He gives no study guide and I'm not even sure where the questions come from. I wouldn't recommend this class.

Great professor. He does ask if there are any questions that the class has prior to starting his lecture. He will take up the entire class period for the Lecture, but it is fine because his lectures are entertaining due to the references in the notes (Simpsons, Star Wars, and The 3 Stooges)

Dr. Marks is a great professor, whose sense of humor made me look forward to class every day. He really knows how to make mudane material seem interesting. However, although he is great professor, when it comes to helping students individually, he is extremely unhelpful and seems like he has no desire to be inconvenienced.

Had him for BioAnthro and AnthroGenetics. Great prof-my favorite! Lectures are interesting and fun. He is very clear. I enjoyed his classes. 3 multiple choice tests in both classes and participation = grade. Has a few questions from readings on tests, but usually talks some about readings in class.

Great Professor! Makes the boring materials come ALIVE!!! This class was exciting and interesting! He curses a lot so be prepared!
