I LOVED HIM!he loves his culture and language and wants you to as well. If you don't have any background in Spanish, it's a tough class though.I never studied for a test and got A's on all of them. Make sure you do your workbook, he will collect it at the end of the semester though! Fun teacher and very worth taking his class!

Comment:

Giro is an enjoyable teacher. He makes jokes and makes the class really interesting. However, I think that it would be really beneficial for you to have a background in Spanish. If you know some Spanish then you should take this class but if you do not then this class will be a little more difficult.Giro is a great teacher.

Comment:

He's a nice guy who enjoys what he does, but it's a very boring and annoying class. If you enjoy spanish you will probably like this class, but I never had any motivation to go. Tests aren't that hard though and I ended up with a B- in the class.

Giro is a good teacher. He speaks a lot of Spanish in the class and uses his full vocabulary. This can be confusing at first but really helps you to learn the language. He encourages a lot of participation but doesn't force it. If you pay attention and read the book you will do well. He moves quickly so you have to keep up but its completely doable

Giro is a pretty good teacher. If you study the book and pay attention in class you will learn spanish but I think it would be extremely helpful to have a background in Spanish. If you have no background in Spanish at all you will have to work harder than the rest of the class. It may be a little challenging but it is achievable.

Nice man, but not a great teacher. Doesn't really explain and needs a hearing aide!! He'll yell if he can't hear you, and sometimes even when he can, but he's not really yelling AT anyone. Tests aren't too hard, use workbook and CDRom and you'll be fine.

He was awful. He really can't teach spanish. It's safe to say Spanish teachers at Towson suck. He has a thick accent and its hard to understand his spanish let alone eng. If you're straight out of high school you'll probably be fine, but if you graduated 8 yrs ago like myself, please spare yourself.

They said I could handle this class since I took 2 years of it in high school. Yeah right...he can not teach...at all. Its not only hard to understand what he is saying but he yells and jumps around the class. He would be a great cultral teacher. He loves to make fun of america cause hes from cuba.

i hadn't had spanish since 9th grade. Giro is the man. If you study a little every night its no problem. Very fair test grading. if you take spanish...take it with giro..he was head of the dept. for a long time and is only teaching now for a favor...he knows whats up

The test are a little difficult because it expects you to know everything. Does very little review, but grades very fairly. He had let little errors go that I had on test and I received better grades than I should. He has a sense of humor and uses it.
