When he wasn't reading the newspaper, he was an OK lecturer. You ABSOLUTELY need the textbook because he doesn't post notes and he doesn't go into detail at all during the class. Loves current events so much that he spends most of the class talking about them. Nice guy though.

Joe is a very knowledgable guy. I am not a political science student so much of the content of his lectures went over my head. He doesn't post his notes online so you have to go to his lectures if you want to pass. This class was only offered as a night class when I took it. Attendance worth 10%, term paper worth 30% and final worth 60%.

This is a really good professor that I have ever met. Although his lecture is a little hard for students who are not familiar with lots of English words like me, it's really interesting and enjoyable. We don't have midterm exams but only an essay. If possible, I would like to take more courses of this professor.

Comment:

Very nice and caring man. Found him to be disorganized when it comes to course material. Slow at getting your marks back. Final Exam blindsided everyone, longer than necessary and high expectations for an exam only 2.5 hours.

Great Prof. should be awarded a teaching award. I do not think I have ever met someone so knowledgeable on so many subjects. He has clear expectations and is extremely helpful for such a busy man. Responds to my emails almost instantly. Probably the best Professor I have ever had.

Great prof! Emails back quickly, and always helped whenever I asked him. Lots of note taking, and essays are long for a first year class, but it's easy to get a good grade if you put the work into it!

This class was very interesting, although extremely high expectations. Very helpful Prof, quite knowledgable. Although i recommend having a more open mind to new ideas!!!! Also it is unfair to reprimand a student for not been outgoing/talkative. I feel the environment was not conducive to discussion.

Joe is a great professor, very likeable. Is very clear on what he expects and helps students whenever they need it. His lectures are kind of boring - but I think that is because of the material, he tries to make it more interesting. Exams are not exceptionally hard and he marks fairly easily on the essays.

Joe was great. He doesn't put up with crap, which is good. He demands respect, and is worthy of it. Very helpful, really makes himself available to students. The class itself was so interesting. I would recommend it to anyone interested in what's happening in the world.

Boring class, very boring, but on the other hand, considering that I was taking municipal politics, i'm not sure anyone could make it interesting. Very passionate about politics. Tries to be funny but sometimes fails. By no means the best prof on campus, but nowhere near the worse either.
