Comment:
He's a very laid-back professor that spent a lot of time telling interesting stories, but I learned a ton from the class. Homeworks are easy, tests are hard (but curved in some mysterious way). He pays attention to student feedback and either adapts or explains why he is teaching in that particular way.

Professor King is by far the coolest professor at HMC. If you think he's unfair, you've got to suck it up and learn how to be an adult. One of the most badass and knowledgeable engineers I know (and his daughter's hott too!!)

King is an insane character. He structured the tests so that averages would come our where he wanted them instead of trying to let us do the best we could. He has the potential to be a good prof, but surely hasn't shown it here. This was a very poor class; take it with Spjut.

Comment:
King knows his stuff, is very comfortable teaching his classes, and has a great, extremely dry sense of humor. See previous comments for classwork and test information. There's a rumor that King will not be returning after his sabbatical. I hope this isn't the case - Mudd would really loose something if he left.

His exams seem to be geared towards getting the average score he plans on, rather than actually being a fair test of knowledge of the class material.

Prof. King is an interesting guy. The homework was easy, but the test were demoralizing. Write down everything he says, because it will be on the test. He is a great Prof to learn from, just not recieve grades from.

King is an unusual prof but most of them at mudd are something special. His lectures are very fascinating and only a few people sleep through them. He is exceptionally knowledgable in material science, and in intimidation - watch out. So take a class with him, you will like it.

Comment:
Rather than focusing on equations that you can read for yourself out of the textbook, Prof. King keeps things in context with examples/stories from his professional work (and cool things passed around during class.) The homework is really easy but tests aren't so watch out. Prof. King can be a bit intimidating at first, but he's really cool.

King is awesome. I was a total wimp about tools since I hadn't used most of that equipment before but he was nothing but helpful and amiable, making sure that it was a pleasant and enriching experience for me. Watch out for that exam though, it's impossible!
