Comment:

Professor Pascarella is one of the best lecturers I've ever had. He's super interesting, doesn't really use the textbook - thank goodness - and talks about what's happening in the world. I highly recommend taking SOC 334 with him. You won't regret it. He's a fair grader and the labs aren't complex. He's very laid back about assignments/grades.

Comment:

One of the funniest professors ever! he makes the class interesting and always updates slides throughout the class to keep everyone updated. Labs were easy and gave us more than enough time to turn them in. He gave us 4 exams and a final and about 5 very easy discussion board posts. I did not use the textbook, just studied from notes & PP's.

Dr. Joe is AMAZING! He makes lectures interesting. He goes off topic sometimes to elaborate on topics mentioned in the slides. He loves hearing the students thoughts. He gives about 5 quizzes (super easy) and drops the lowest one. He moves through material pretty quick but I am a slow learner and manage to keep up. He is really my favorite teacher!

overall an easy professor and a very easy grader. HOWEVER, he is very unorganized to the level of having a class for over an hour and talk about the material for maybe 5% of the time. otherwise his classes were rather interesting and his quizzes were very easy

Really easy-going, nice, funny, and engaging. He makes material very easy and relateable to understand; he tries to make it clear & wants u to do well. His tests r easy, come to class, & listen! Ask questions, he loves answering them, he makes everyone feel comfortable, & gives u an excellent overview of the field. TAKE HIM- he is SO GREAT.

I disregarded previous post when they said how he is "extremely disorganized", BUT ITS TRUE!! Given its an online course, he replies LATE with emails. Does not GRADE any work until weeks later (3 weeks before semester ends); Gives two exams, WHICH ARE UNCLEAR AS TO WHAT HE WANTS US TO ANSWER. EXAMS are very ambiguous and are worth 20%, 25% & 25%.

The best professor to take 212W with. I actually learned a lot in this class and it was very interesting. Only two tested and a final. The writing assignment were more of discussion questions you had to answer. He really cares about his students.

Mr pascarella was truly remarkable. He gives vivid examples and helps explain even the most difficult topic. It was a pleasure being a student of his. There was never a boring day in his class. He is very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend him. HE DOES NOT ANSWER EMAILS. other than that take him. Do your work and you will get a good grade.

The class wasn't that hard. Professor Pascarella did stop grading your work after a while, but if you just keep up with it, you wouldn't need to worry. Exams are pretty easy too. His availability wasn't so great when it came down to asking him questions though.

This is my second time taking him the exams r very easy n as long as u do the work by his guidelines u will get a good grade, he does take a while to grade but who cares, it gives u more time to make up the work if u missed the deadline I would recommend taking him

I took his Criminal Justice online class and yes he does stop grading after the second week, but if you are sure of your self and if you read the other students comments you should know your doing well. I got an A and I didnt slak off. The midterm and final was online and it was easy. I recommend him, but don't think online is easy. Do the work

Although its an EASY A, the prof is horribly disorganized. Many discrepancies between the syllabus & his requirements on blackboard. He never responds to any emails (although email is provided). QC should really verify prof's availability b4 allowing teachers to teach online courses.

This was an online class. It would have been more accomodating if blackboard were not so screwed up. Afterall, it was not the professor's fault. I think overall, the topic was very interesting, the book he chose was easy reading and I think he is great professor as I have learned a great deal about natural disasters.
