a nice guy, always approachable and inspire student to go to his office and he likes to explain stuff to students, very passionate. He usually goes deep and that's why ppl always get confuse. however, phys205 is a tough course and you cannot expect to learn everything from the lecture. need some effort and time. the final was easy

Comment:
Not very clear in class. Gets way too deep in some derivatives and integral and it just becomes confusing. only 3 question in midterm and half of the class got 0% (literally 0, not even just failing). He know his stuff very well but takes for granted everyone should understand as easily and quickly as him. Would never take a course with him again

Had him in summer2016. He's very passionate, but his lectures were not-so-good because he often lost the class by going too deep into derivations. However, his office hours extended to all-day-all-week, & he was as lenient as it got with assignment deadlines. Fast grader. Take calc2 prior to taking him. Exams are also very similar to previous ones.

Professor consistently invites students to ask questions, during class or in the intermission, for any and all unclear class concepts. grading geared toward understanding. Often takes (amusing) tangents that start off with relevant material, usually with practical applications of course material. Provided extra notes besides the textbook

Very bad professor! AVOID HIM! He thinks this is Integrals and Calculus stuffs. He doesn't explain that much and in the midterm, he doesn't give formula. For the final, there are some useless formulas that you will need to derive or integrate to get the formula needed. The class is not easy, we know; but, the professor should make it understandable!

I love Shin. His Homework was ridiculously hard, unless you have taken multi-calc 2, his final was easy(for me). Hardest part of course is learning the multiple integrals and why you use them. Doesn't just talk about physics, but the whole universe, including consciousness (outside of class). He is the thinking man's teacher.

This course is like waking up to icy water in the face, coming out of CEGEP. Prof. Shin tries his best to make the material understandable. Good notes, demanding and tries to prepare new students for the remainder of their academic life in physics. Can be preachy. In HINDSIGHT, the class wasn't that hard.

Professor Shin is wonderful, the best physics prof I've had at Concordia hands down. He genuinely wants his students to succeed and will go above and beyond to help you--all you have to do is swing by his office hours. His lectures are clear and easy to follow, and he's really funny too. I especially recommend him for Phys 205.

Very good teacher. He makes sure you understand the principles of physics, even if he doesn't solve many problems. You want problems? Then you can use your book. If you need help, this prof. will meet you out of his office hours if you need to. The only thing I don't like about him, is when he talks about other things.

If I had to take this class again, I wouldn't take it with this Prof. The bottom line is if the prof feels you should pass you get the marks whether you have the correct answer or not is irrelevant. I have seen people without knowledge pass and you could spend days and nights study and fail. Well! that's not the game I like to play but if you do....

Professor Shin is the best phys prof at Concordia. You might think he doesn't do practice problems, but he shows you throughout the semester exactly what is on the exam. Also, his exams are EXTREMELY easy. If you got 0 on it, it is because you couldn't solve the easiest coulomb's law problem imaginable. He will also tutor you all day long no joke.
