Comment:
As previously stated, Dr. Dever is a genius. His lectures are very high-level, often go on tangents, and his dry and morbid humor makes them the highlight of your day. Beware, the class starts out easy and gets HARD with the First Problem Set and stays that way. Class is curved, but it's still not easy to get an A. Would recommend, but watch out.

Professor Dever is a genius. He goes off on some incredible tangents during lecture, but is overall very clear about the material. This class was difficult, but working in groups and being conscientious about homework and studying will get you an A (there's also a curve).

Generally laid back and agreeable, pretty funny but very straightforward. Class was VERY hard but he curves it nicely. The material can be pretty hard to grasp but he was generally clear. If you stay on top of your homework and just take the tests you should get at least a B-, he 'doesn't like giving C's unless you're not trying.'

Took for Plan II Logic. Was my favorite class of the semester! Hard to get an A, but going in for office hours is insanely helpful. There is a curve, but you still have to work for it. His lectures are a lot of fun, he gets the entire class participating and makes hilarious jokes. Would take again!

Fun to listen to, quirky sense of humor. You can tell he tries to give engaging and fun examples. Go to office hours for help with problems. Tests are really tough, nobody does really well, but the curve will save you in the end. Everyone responds to this material differently, if you like bending your mind, you'll like most of this class.

Logic is cool but mind bending. Dr Dever's lectures made a possibly dry subject much more entertaining. TA sessions helped. Tests are tough. Big curve. Tough but fun. Take logic over modes.

The material is very difficult and often I felt completely lost. The T.A. sessions are more important than the lecture, but Dever in office hours is extremely helpful.

The class was insanely hard, but in that fun and challenging way. I didn't do so well, but that was none of Prof. Dever's fault.

not really available to help students - got too flustered in office hours. BUT, entertaining in class.
