You pretty much have to go to class. Only homework is to read. He assigns about 100 pages of reading for each class and you are quizzed on it at the begining of each class. Doesn't really grade that hard, pretty every one gets a 3.0 or better. You're not gunna fail, its just a lot of reading. 1 major paper at the end.

A lot of reading was expected for this course but if you did it you were fine. The only homework was to read. And in class we only discuss what we read. There were no quizzes or tests, only a project/presentation/paper at the end of the class and a few 'field trips' and outings that we counted for your grade. Overall, very good teacher!

This class was very difficult. I learned a lot but do not take it if you don't have spare time and don't love to read. There were like 8 books that had to be read and most of them were long a boring. Hes a nice guy but there is a LOT involved with this class, be careful

Dr. Nixon is an AMAZING professor! He absolutely loves what he does and he passes that on to his students. He is incredibly intriguing and makes the subject matter come to life. I've taken four of his classes and recommend that everyone take at least one!!! He really cares about his students.
