I was a complete math phobic/ near idiot until Prof. Grabiner's class. It completely changed my way of thinking and understanding. You can't say enough about what a superb teacher she is. Take her classes right now.

I had her for both Math 30-31 and she made me want to be a math major! Having her, is like having your grandma teach you math, she is nice and easy to talk to and very open for help. The test are reasonable and the homework is not too much. I wish I could take all my math classes with her!

Grabiner is hilarious and fun in class but also explains things in a way that makes it easy for math novices to learn. If you pay attention in her class and do all the homework you're guaranteed to do well and understand the material. She's readily available to answer any questions outside of class and always has interesting stories.

Comment:
Prof Grabiner does demand thoughtful work, you have to think (this may mean tedious homework). That being said, her lectures are entertaining. In taking her history of math class, she would impersonate several mathematicians (well) and would make theater proud. Its obvious she knows what she's doing and knows how to teach.

I'm not sure if "3rd grade" math is accurate -- do 7 year olds really deal with binomial coefficients and combinatronics? While it might be easy for some, it's still math and therefore difficult for others. But everything you've heard about Prof. G is true: a kind, funny, fascinating, genius of a lady. You'll get out of it what you put into it.

Math In Many Cultures. Good glass, pretty easy (like 3rd grade style math). Judy is good at explaining things; very clear, assignments/homework very straightforward. You can't really go wrong in her classes. Love you Judy!

This Professor has changed my career path. I suck at math but her enthusiasm, love, and knowledge of mathematics has changed the way I think, not only of math, but of every aspect of my life. She showed us how math was the foundation of philosophy, art, history, and politics. Amazing class - Amazing Professor.

Grabiner made me realize that I can actually do math -that it wasn't my ineptitude in those sucky high school classes that made math hell, just incompetent teachers. My two semesters of math with Grabiner were actually enjoyable! She has boosted my life confidence and written me wonderful recommendations. She is also great to chat with!

She is brilliant in her field. She has written many books. She gets very excited with the topic. It would be boring if you are not excited about the topic, but she does everything she can to suck you in. Sometimes she is a little to smart though, she doesn't dummy down the info at all, so you have to pay attention. Great prof!

Very interesting material. Homeworks are pretty easy, Final is take-home. Beware of the sleeping gas in the class... everyone dozes off at least once... The room looks like a room full of bobble head dolls. I imagine it's quite funny
