She's a nice professor. Class participation is a must. A lot of debates in her class. You have to do an oral group presentation that lasts an hour. Has a 10 question quiz almost everyday that she gives in the last five minutes of class. You write four 3-5 pg. essays as well. Easy enough class, but a lot of writing. Takes attendance every day

Judith is a great professor, if you put the time and effort in you will do fine. Participation is very important in this class, she takes attendance every day. also there are group projects. When you are given time in class with your group PARTICIPATE! most people do not realize that she is taking and adding points at this time. NO TEXTING IN CLASS

She was very difficult in her grading and sometimes I didn't even know what she wanted me to do. She doesn't like to give out assignment sheets, so you have to wing it. Not being very good at true or false tests, my grade slowly decreased every class period. Business ethics wasn't really my thing.

I had Professor Hill for both Phil 230 and 240. She is very humorous and makes the subject matter more interesting! I would take all of her classes if I could spare the credits..

By far my favorite Prof. She is interesting, knowledgeable, and fair. Papers are graded based on how well you back up your opinion. Quizzes are form of "attendance" and are just T/F based on lecture. Class is always interesting and includes fun debates. Take her if you get the chance. If you try hard you will not regret it!

Good professor. Not a blow-off class but Dr. Hill is willing to work with students who put the effort in.

Dr. Hill is the worst professor I've ever had at SVSU in my 4 years. She grades her papers as if you are going for your Ph.D. If you receive a grade above 84% on her papers you did an outstanding job. She does not curve. Her T/F quizzes are not bad if you pay attention. But you wont learn anything. You'll just hurt your GPA. Avoid. Seriously.

She is very hard to understand, as others have said. Your opinion does not count for anything because she is the only one with the right view. I have not read the book yet, just taken notes from what she puts on the board. Quizzes are T/F and pointless if you pay any attention. Its just not worth taking this class, you won't learn anything.

Horrid teacher! if you can decipher her porky-the-pig way of talking, you might get some info out of her. If you aren't a hardcore democrat, but in the middle or right-wing oriented, don't even bother taking her, YOU WILL BE WRONG! if you don't agree with her, there is no debate, she is always right (she thinks). I didn't enjoy the class at all

Although she may seem boring and intolerable at first, (her notes are all over the place, stumbles over her words a lot) she is a very nice, funny lady. You really only need the book for your debate, which you only do one of. There is usually a T/F quiz at the end of each lecture, but i think she makes it impossible to get 100% on the essay exams

Can't believe I haven't seen anything about this yet. I can't focus on her lectures, and here's why: I clocked her at 9.4 "ums" per minute. One every 6 seconds. she says "UM" SO MUCH. twice at the beginning and end of every sentence. I am NOT exaggerating. It's intensely irritating and distracting. She needs to take lessons in public speaking

Great teacher who loves what she is teaching! Engages the class in discussions and debates and likes to hear everyone's opinion. Her exams are take home essays, which she lays out very specifically, and as long as you follow the guidelines they are not very hard. She has quizzes during almost every class that are her version of attendance.

Professor Hill is an excellent teacher. She really gets the class engaged with the topic at hand and encourages discussion. Her quizzes are quite easy especially if she gives them after lecture. Reading isn't necessary because her lectures are pretty thorough. Her exams were all take home and I did ok on most.

Just AGREE WITH HER! This was a philosophy class, and you were basically shunned for expressing any viewpoint other than hers. Ppl in class drag the same topic on 4ever during dicussions... Very hard grader because you never know what she wants you to write. But, she is very helpful & will read drafts & try to help you correct mistakes in advance.

Great Professor for Business Theory and Ethics. She loves class discussion and always brings every point of view out there. No homework at all! Only have to do 5 papers (5 pages each) on articles in the book. No midterm. Final Exam is a 10 pg. paper but that's the only downside. She's fun to argue with and really knows what she's doing. Take her!

She does not like viewpoints outside of the socialist ideology. When you choose your presentation, choose a side she agrees with or she will mark you down a full grade.

I actually liked this class. It requires a little bit of work, but I truly feel like I learned worthwhile information. She's easy going, gives help whenever you need it, and works around any problems you might have. I'd take her again and I'm recomending her to all my friends.

Lots of papers. I wrote my papers like a liberal (because that is DEFINATELY what she is) and got an A on them all. Can't say the same for the rest of the class because she doesn't usually hand out good grades for the papers. Just take liberal postions and you'll do fine.

Im a 2.0 student, but I like taking philosophy classes because Im a deep thinker. If you have a hard time with deep, critical thinking you shouldnt be taking philosophy classes anyways. For this class just show up, participate in class discussion and exercises, review for about 30 min for each exam, just make an effort, you'll do fine. Cant ask for much less out of college courses. As far as work: 10 (8-12 is ok) page term paper which isnt that much once you get going. A few articles you need to summarize and analyze, which is an easy 1-2 page assignment. And a few tests, which are multiple choice, with a few short answers and an essay. Organized, good system, well-structured.
