We read 3 novels throughout the semester and had a final paper for the exam. ALL TESTS were based solely on your knowledge of the book (ie specific places where things took place, names of minor characters etc). Overall, my least favourite literature class and my worst mark in University.

Comment:

Judith Ohlmann was an overall fair prof. She had 3 tests throughout the course based on the novels we studied, and 2 final papers as the exam. She was however very confusing at time. I would ask questions and her answers were very passive, not to the point. She also wasted many classes lecturing about irrelevant content, she is very disorganized.

A very dedicated and passionate prof. Be attentive in her class, her lectures can be disorganized but she still gets all the information across. If you're the type to text and go on Facebook during class-don't. That's how you fail. Just make good notes and everything's straight forward.

Comment:

This professor is so willing to go WAY out of her way to help her students, and do the students take advantage of that? No. They're lazy and then they complain when they're not handed As. This professor is doing her job. She teaches and she grades accordingly. It is a literature class, so expect to read the books. Simple as that. She's awesome.

Dr. Ohlmann is my favourite prof at the U. She is so kind, so helpful and really cares about her students. I don't know why she gets negative feedback. If the student is asking for help and willing to work, then she'd be more than happy to assist! She loves her students and it truly shows. She is also so passionate about what she teaches. LOVE HER!

She is a lovely lady, but I will never take a class with her again. She is repetitive, and wastes class time. She knows her information, which is great, but tends to get off topic. She is NEVER available for office hours prior to exams/tests, and her subject matter on tests is most of the time useless and irrelevant to the main points

very unclear and she is not very accomodating to students. She does not understand that there is a special needs centre for a reason and those students require special arrangements for a reason. She is not understanding and very unfair to certain students.

She made everyone in this class buy a $70 book which we didn't even use becaue she wasted our time talking and showing pointless movies! She changed tests, assignments, the syllabus, and even the final exam on us all in secret. Ohlmann favors some students over others and she is not afraid to screw her students over if it's in her best interest.

Really nice, clear, and fair. HOWEVER: the French department here meanders through the material in the first year. Come on ... two months to do present, passe compose and imparfait! Il faut passer seulement une semaine pour les enseigner dans un cours de francais a universite!

She is a one of the prof that actually cares about her students, she challenges the study to work hard in her class and expect alot in return. She is a prof that teaches very well and helps anyone in need.
