Julie is great! I learned a great deal from her class and would definitely take another class with her if given the opportunity. There is quite a substantial amount of reading required, but if you keep up to date on it, you'll be fine. Also, she provides the questions for the final before hand so if you prepare, you can do really well!

She's a very nice teacher who is approachable, but she has to be one of the toughest markers in the department. She pretty much dissects every error in your paper, even petty little mistakes. In terms of workload, there are quite a few things to hand in (paper proposal, article review, long essay, assignments), with the addition of 4 quizzes.

She's very nice and shows interest in the subject matter but i didn't really like the course that much.... really depended on each lecture. She is VERY specific, in fact WAY TOO specific on what she wants for assignments and exams and she's very detailed. When she corrects, she points out every little mistake... which is good in a way I guess.

Lots of readings, wants you to participate (you're graded for it). A tough grader, if you're not a very good writer you should consider taking something else because of this. Large paper to write. Should be a fairly enjoyable class if your writing researching articles skills are good

Lectures were either very interesting or boring, depending on what you were interested in. Otherwise very insightful and she is a very approachable and nice person. Grading of papers was generous but took awhile to get back, however she provided decent feedback compared to many of Concordia's professors.

Very knowledgable overall but the lecturers lacked structures . She chose to stick to group presentations as a form of lecturing and it wasn't overly effective imo. Just wish we could have had more structured lectures so I could have heard more of her analysis on the topics.

She's a very good teacher, cares about her students and is a relatively easy marker. If you show up to class and do the work, there's no reason to not end the class with a very good grade.

Julie is by far the best teacher I have had at Concordia. She is helpful, clear and extremely knowledgeable in her area of study. Everyone should take her if they have the chance. Course work is heavy but easily attainable if you do your work. Final exam questions and definitions are given in advance. Marks fairly. Study hard = great grade.

This is a VERY theory-heavy class. The assignments are long and the readings are sometimes complicated. Her lecture notes are very good; clear and easy to understand. Quizzes are based on lectures and readings, and they can be tricky at times. Final exam is definitions and essay questions. Recommended only if you can handle theory-heavy classes.

Julie is one of my favourite professors. She always makes class interesting and provides many examples to further clarify her explanations. She is probably the most approachable professor I've had. Her assignments are actually interesting, and she is always a fair grader. Very open minded and encourages students to explore subjects more deeply.

I loved the content of this course, and I think Julie is amazing- very knowledgeable and nice too. I felt this course lacked direction, though. Very few guidelines for the term paper. I would prefer a more focused directive to know what's expected of me. She will have to create a grade for attendance next time, as no one ever showed up for class.

Too many readings in her classes. I understand that it was a theory-heavy course, but combined with other classes, it was too much. Otherwise, she's clear in expectation, and is an engaging and helpful professor!

An amazing teacher. She's interesting and clear and friendly. A great lecturer. TONS of long readings, which were mostly jargon, which I hate. Her slides and assignments were a bit wordy and overly complicated. The quizzes were incredibly easy, though. She made the subject matter interesting and always gave great examples. Loved her chuckle!

She may not be very clear at moments and in some instances it would seem that she doesn't fully master the topics discussed. However, in my opinion, Julie is a good teacher. Very nice and always willing to answer questions. You will also bearly use the textbook. The assignments are easy and the exams covers mostly slide show material. An easy A.
