Julie Rivkin is the best! Incredibly sweet and willing to help. She assigns quite a bit of reading and wants everyone to participate in the class discussions so better read up! Overall, wonderful professor and I'd recommend her to anyone.

While extremely laid-back and sometimes invisible in the classroom, this prof is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in 1:1 situations. Just be warned--sit near the front of the room because she doesn't speak very loudly!

Prof. Rivkin always seemed to want you to read books her way. In class, she bordered on extremely boring. But, during one on one conversations, she improved and showed me that she cared and loved literature and education.

I love my advisor and i've taken as many classes as possible with her. Very interesting, informative and exremely nice. Changed the way I look at literature. Also, she looks out for students and understands that we have lives beyond the classroom.
