I have never had such a useless professor! He is so old that most of the time half way through his lecture he forgets what point he was trying to make. He is not willing to help a student out whether it be before or after class. Someone needs to add the word RETIREMENT to his vocabulary!!! He does not prepare you for the final either.

I took Gen Chem with this guy. He is hard to understand he does not teach much material in lecture. You have to self study everything from the book. The final is also very difficult. I do not recommend this professor. It is possible to do well in his class, but you have to study A LOT.

Lectures are boring and don't have anything to do with material in quizzes/exams. There are so few points offered that it's hard to ever redeem yourself. He's older & needs an update on how to teach. Answers questions indirectly. Worse professor I've ever had & I actually used to love chemistry (not so much anymore).

The worse chem teacher. His lect were boring and nothing to do with the exams. If you asked a question he would not give you a right answer. AVOID AT ABY COST!!! His quizes were half the pts of exams. Our class was only 1hr he lect for 30mins during test and quizzes. No time to take the tests. I think he should have retired.

This professor is the absolute worst professor I have ever had. He should be in Florida. He may have been a good teacher 20 years ago, but now he sucks. Don't take him, if at all possible, you will come out of the class knowing less than when you went in. Halfway throught he semester, I was sitting my seat going, "What is he talking about?"

Grade in this class based on 3 tests 3 quizzes,1 every 2 weeks, 1 20% final, and a 20%lab grade. lab is hard Professor gives a generous curve. Material is not that difficult, but professor cannot teach it effectively: tests do not resemble anything learned in class!They are tricky and sabatouge your grade even if you understand the material!

He is an older gentleman, but do NOT listen to anyone who says this makes him a bad teacher. I never had a problem hearing/understanding him. He gives practice exams, is helpful during his office hours, and will even help you on an exam if you ASK. He also goes through material slowly, which is a plus if you are not good at chemistry.

Take anyone else.. This guy is so unclear, can't keep his train of thought and he laughs at himself at least 6 times each lecture.. He is the OLDEST living thing I've ever seen and his writing is sloppy and he barely erases the board so that 10 minutes in, you can't read it anymore.. LECTURES DO NOT COVER TEST MATERIAL. Look at the practice tests.

Had this guy unfortunately for 157 and 158. Snoozefest. Speaks and writes way too soft, so half the classtime is spent trying to understand/decipher what he is talking about. Left the class more confused than I walked in. Now I have to repeat. Take another prof if at all possible!

Really nice guy, but really needs to retire teaching. Is very soft-toned, and writes very small and sloppy - gives you practice sheet which are really helpful, but they're handwritten and hard to read. Tests at the end of class but he never gives you enough time to do them. Use your book!!! If you can avoid taking a class with Gendell, do it.

Okaayyy!!! (Overused phrase)This teacher was a total waste of time and money. I learned more from the kids in my class than him. He forgot what he was saying every 10 seconds. class is boring, it's hard to stay awake. he's an old man who can't walk or talk well and it's hard to read what he writes on the board. tests follow what he lectures and are pretty easy if you do the practice tests. no required homework but i recommend understanding most of it for tests.

Wow. Moves VERY SLOW through curriculum, which is kind of a good thing, but his grading method is RIDICULOUS. Tests and quizzes are word-screwed and each question will be 10% or more of the grade. I know the material very well,but my grades just don't reflect it. Lecture is a yawner. Students correct him THE ENTIRE CLASS PERIOD. Shoulnt be teaching
