Comment:

I would not take her class again. She gives an essay and a listening assignment each week. The listening assignments were not hard but most of the essays were. You have to look on the internet for information and most of the time you can not find anything on the topic. She does not give help, either. I would not recommend this class.

Great flutist but a very dry and boring woman. I took this non major music class thinking it would be easy because I am a music major. I was wrong, while I don't struggle too much with it, it is not an easy A. Many of the test have questions not addressed in her lectures. Her class room setting is ridiculously strict. There is lots of extra credit.

I absolutely love Mrs. Futterer as a person, but I despise her as a professor. Her tests are THE most difficult tests I have ever taken. When taking her for Music History, you MUST do the listening AT LEAST a week before the test or you WILL fail. The content of the tests is literally everything she says. Take notes like your life depends on it.

Damn teacher, her test so hard, she make music like history, so boring class. Her test u even can't get answer from text book and notes, study guide will show a damn words "General information of this chapter" so what the study guide mean? Useless.

Absolute terror of a class. Wrote 20 pages on the first test made an 88 12 pages next 74 6 pages next 61. Terrible class she expects perfect memory and intense focus. Maybe she should in a junior or senior level class, but freshman? No way.

Like her as a person.. quirky, funny.. BUT for a general education credit, I DO NOT recommend her. She makes the class harder than it needs to be. I am not afraid of being treated like an adult/college student, but this class was one i dreaded going to. Take Dr. Barber if you'd like to learn AND have fun.

She can be very condescending to those who do not share her love of music. Just because it's your culture doesn't mean that it's everyone elses. Lectures are more of a history lesson, and can be very hard to keep track of and take notes on. This is not an intro class.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL...terrible woman. Not only is she totally and completely scatter brained all the time...she loses papers and tries to accuse everyone in the class of cheating. Fantastic flute player, TERRIBLE TEACHER!!!

Nearly 7 years now with Mrs Futterer. Anybody who wants to study flute in Arkansas (or anywhere for that matter) should seriously consider studying with this professor. Freakishly good player...equally good teacher. Helps you with music as well as your personal life. But---the better you do, the more she expects---so be warned!

This class is boring. Only take it if you need to. Always walks and talks like she's on a mission. But "At any rate", I would agree never to take her as a night class. She also gets off the subject and explains that students need to "get their head out of their butts" and be more focused in life.
