Comment:

I really enjoyed this class. Her lectures were interesting and although she has a tendency to stray off topic a bit, it was related somewhat to what we were learning and she usually included a related question of the quizzes. Her powerpoints included everything needed for the quizzes and tests. I would definitely take another class with her.

Comment:

Though the overall feel of the course is easy, I recommend attending class. Tests have a lot of questions related to things mentioned during class that you won't find in lecture slides or the textbook. A very vague teaching style, if you find yourself unsure of questions talk to Karen because she is willing to adjust awkward testing formats.

Dreadful.. So unorganized and posted slides contain duplicated information that you have to sift through to figure out what has and hasn't been repeated in previous powerpoints. In class lectures are pointless, goes off topic constantly. Would not recommend

I would not take this class again considering Dr. McDonalds tendency to stray off topic for lengthy amounts of time. She speaks a lot about herself and her family and not a whole lot about the actual course material.

Haven't even finished this course and I already know its the biggest waste of my time. I haven't learned anything because she doesn't teach us anything about the course, and she only talks about her personal life. Extremely unorganized and gets off topic way too easily. I just show up to her class because I feel guilty that I payed for it.

To me in the class I had with her, she was just all over the place with her topics. For many of the topics I had to teach myself the information. She is a nice lady over all but she confuses herself when she talks sometimes, therefore I would get really confused. It is a lot of slides and a lot of reading.

Comment:

McDonald might be the most caring professor I've ever had. She is sympathetic to her students and always in a good mood. She can get off topic during lectures, but I found this enjoyable especially as PSYC can be terminology heavy. Don't worry if she's a bit late to class, she probably just got distracted by someone! Would take her again!

Loved this class! The prof was clear on what to expect for the assignment and what was going to the on the tests. Workload was super easy and if you pay attention in class you don't need to study for the tests!

Karen has awesome midterms and exams. She is a fair marker and includes a lot of useful content on her lecture slides. She uses a lot of examples to explain tricky topics, and I wish I had her for more of my classes. She's always in a good mood and I really respect her.

Karen was an awesome teacher, she could get off topic but she was hilarious and for a 9 am class i didn't mind attending because i looked forward to it. She made it interesting and let us know what tests would be on and if we missed any notes she provided them for us. Glad i had her for my first semester. miss her

Absolutely love her! She makes psych interesting with real world example and quirky humour. Way better than my last professor Karen actually makes me WANT to go to class, she is sweet and funny...disorganized but means well...She is great to listen to and always posts her slides and makes sure you don't forget about quizzes and assignments:)

She is very disorganized, but I loved her. She always made the class interesting. Sometimes you would have to read the textbook to clarify, but she made it a fun class. She always used interesting examples and was sure to use them on her midterms. You don't have to attend class, but it makes it a lot easier for the midterms.

Karen is a good teacher, She uses slides, good idea to print them off and fill them in bc she has ideas on them then talks about them during class. Her exams are good. Cover a lot of the text book, her short answer questions are harder, they are very particular and you really have to know the material to answer them.
