Very nice professor. Presents amazing lectures that make you quite intrigued. Online chapter quizzes each week, along with small, additional assignments. Four exams over a cluster of chapters each. Final is a vocab test (Super easy, if you study). She is also a hilarious professor who shares super funny stories, as well.

Overall, not bad! I took online. We had weekly assignments and quizzes- about a chapter a week. Haven't taken the final yet however it is an all vocab final. Eager to help however she can and has office hours on campus to meet!

P. Muir is an easy grader if you answered the questions she asked and likes lots of little hw assignments (attended class to receive assignments). Didn't get much out of the lectures (take online if she teaches a section) and read the textbook on my own (about 26 p./wk). About two hours of outside class work per week (if you're a fast reader).

Professor Muir was excellent at communicating her expectations for an online class, and provided great, thought provoking feedback on assignments. In the online section of this class, youll definitely be writing a lot, but thats only natural, since its the best way to gauge development of critical thinking.

Karen was excellent. She has a sense of humor and always kept her lectures relevant and interesting. Her tests can be a little tricky if you don't take the time and effort to read the chapters and take the quizzes on your own time. Overall one of the best professors I've had at Columbus State hands down.

Karen Muir is an extremely knowledgeable professor. Her course is easy to do well in if you put in the work and take advantage of her extra credit. She is funny, and easily accessible if you have any questions. Regardless if you take this class as a requirement or not, try to make the best of it and learn something unique.

I have had Karen for a total of three classes now and she is always such a delight. She really cares for her students and is there via email and office hours if need be! She is also hilarious and quite adorable and offers a wide variety of classes. I definitely recommend taking one or two of her courses!

Karen will work with any student to make sure that they get the grade that they want and deserve. She goes well beyond any other teacher to help her students. She's very realistic and practical in the way she helps people in the way she teaches class. If you looking for an amazing teacher take any of CSCC Delaware campus's anthropology classes

Online class. Everything outlined from the beginning including grading and due dates- can work ahead. Bb has the info but takes some searching. Do the unit discussions! Multiple chances for quizzes and questions repeated on tests. Multiple choice. No papers. Buy the book. Responded to email quickly but didn't answer my question. Would take again.

Dr. Muir has really interesting lectures but they can be hard to take notes from even with the powerpoint. Lots of easy reading that there are quizzes on. She is really understanding and is lenient on accepting late assignments. Unit tests can be hard - seems like we didn't always learn everything. Did really like Dr. Muir and lectures overall!

Gave clear guidelines for grading. Gives multiple chances of chapter quizzes - takes highest grade. Discussion board posts are important; Prof. Muir requires detailed posts.

I'm not sure if it's just a perpetual bad day, teacher burnout or what, but asking for help in this course does not seem to be taken well. This is an online course and relies on the E-book. There is very little instruction provided and when emailing for help my reply was that she was not at her computer 24/7 and she was busy. Not impressed.

Bruh, It's Sociology, not Anthropology. Your career is not the Holy Grail of the universe. Chill with your Soapbox of Anthropology. Besides, Psychology is way more important.

Love, love, LOVE Karen! One of the best science-related professors that I've ever had. She is hilarious and cares about her students. With that being said, you will have to put some effort in the class. Read the book before the lecture, and you'll do fine. The exams are based of off the Weekly chapter tests, and it's not that bad if you study.

Biological anthropology was an awesome class. I took it for GE, and didn't expect to love it, but Dr. Muir's excitement about the subject came through. She is a good teacher and really knows her stuff. Highly recommend Dr. Muir, she is awesome. The class gets really good when you get to the primates. : )

This class was a joke. I dont typically have problems with classes, but the information was almost impossible to study! Good luck with test! I would study for 2 weeks AT LEAST and the info from the chapters weren't even on the tests!! So don't take this class with her.

Most classes were lectures with some labs. Online quizzes were taken for each chapter, they were quite easy. The final was also online and was vocabulary basedvery easy as well. In-class tests were mainly multiple choice so they weren't so hard. Overall, it was a pretty easy class with interesting parts.
