Comment:

Very enthusiastic. Sometimes too enthusiastic in a way that she treats us like grade 1 kids but she tries very hard to capture our attention. Talks a lot about herself and how amazing she is which is not very helpful and not credible (she knows Stephen Hawking). Lots of group discussions. Not a hard class but one of my least favorite.

Karen is one of the most enthusiastic, supportive instructors I have come across. Her passion for her students and what she is teaching makes learning interesting and fun. Her depth of knowledge is strong and this added to a quality learning experience. It was a pleasure to have her as my instructor for several courses at the graduate level .

I took several graduate-level classes with Dr. Smith over the course of my Masters degree, and was lucky enough to have her as my advisor. Yes, she demands a lot of her students, which is why I feel in her classes I produced my best work. She was beyond supportive as both a professor and an advisor.

I worked with her a lot over four years and she was so wonderful. Dr. Smith always took extra time to help me when I needed it. She is very down to earth, honest, encouraging, and openminded. I am so lucky to have had her as my advisor. She was so quick with thesis edits and tips, it made the process really smooth. Thanks Dr. Smith!
