Roberts is a great prof. Her enthusiasm for the material is evident from the first lecture. Yes she does occassionally editorialize, but at least she tells you she's doing so when it happens. Most profs present their own opinion as fact, which she never does.

Throws her own comments in quite often, stands at the front and just speaks, but sometimes its nice to look ;). Thought she was a very fair marker, and did bring humour into the class. Great teacher and recommend her.

Numerous poli sci classes with Kari. She is an excellent prof, one of the best I have ever had. If you actually like poli sci and are willing to put effort into your papers, then she is fine. Plus, her tests are pretty easy anyways. She is funny and more than willing to help.

I took two classes with her and would take more if I could. Yes, she gives her educated opinion, as does every other tenured prof. Great teaching style and insight into the material. People just get bitter when they do not get 'A's. A great prof!

Ya she pushes you alright. The fact is, there is a reason she doesnt have tenure yet and never will, and its because she doesnt know how to teach without providing her opinion on absolutely everything. Teach students with an open mind and they will learn alot more and enjoy lectures to. Take this advice.

k, she is not easy BUT you will never learn anything unless you are pushed. She is really nice and very understanding. AND if you go to her for help she is extremly helful. She likes to see her students do well and is so smart. Take a sememiar class with you if you can!

Oh my god, a class you actually have to work in! Only morons who want automatic 'A's for their lacklustre work will hate Kari. Her jokes aren't funny, and the sarcasm is a bit much, but she's very knowledgeable, very intelligent, and very clear. Good prof.

Very critical marker, it's true. Not impossible to get an A, though. She's very specific. I did not really like the material she chose for this class, and so helpfulness suffered there. I din't really learn much in this class, but she is usually quite clear, although very specific. I don't think i'll take another class with her, but she was ok

K, it's true she's a hard marker on papers - go see her - she likes ANALYTICAL papers, answer the why and hows of every question you ask and explain what you propose. She is a great prof - easy to approach - forget about calling her Dr.Roberts (she got her doctorate in 2004) - just call her Kari.

Her constant unfunny sarcastic comments regarding US policy (don't get me wrong, I like sarcasm, but it has to be funny sarcasm) and her numerous mentionings of how very young she is made me originally dislike her but her intelligence won me over.

I've had her for both Central and Eastern Europe as well as Western Europe. She gets it, very clear, knowledgeable, interesting, funny, kind and approachable. I thought she marked relatively easy, of course I am used to Baron's marking style so it isn't that much of a stretch.

She's funny, I'll give her that, but laughter doesn't help heal the pain of a -C I got on a 200 level paper. Marks way too hard for a class with more people than the id number. Single handedly made me realize that Poli sci sucks, I better go apply for that janitorial postion now and save the time.

"This is university, you have to conform." What little amount of respect I had for Kari Roberts vanished the moment she said that. I thought she was rude and condescending and completley devalued original thinking. It was very disappointing.

kari was cute, explained course material almost flawless and really empahsised important examinable material. paper marking was a little hard but i hope the somewhat easy final made up for that!
