Sadly the tests are department and he can't change that, the book, read only the bolded words and learn those. He's a really nice guy, just don't expect anything if you get on his bad side. Rather dull, lectures are interesting if you're involved.

One of my first classes taken and by far the best I've had since being here. I HATED speech in H.s. and this class was awesome, he made you feel comfortable and was willing to help you out with whatever you needed. TAKE HIM he is an old crazy man with an ear-ring and loves to ride his motor cycle

dr winton was a great teacher. He was too lenient with the other students but i guess he couldnt fail everyone. He was more then willing to help and was a good teacher overall. Those of you complaining most be complete incompetent idiots. Id recommend him as a teacher

NEVER TAKE "TELL ME A TALE"! They make you do hours worth of interviewing and then have you transcribe the tape (1 hour of tape= 12 hours of transcribing!) He is the worst professor i've ever had. Doesn't explain the grading scale. He didn't even bother to learn our names. HE IS A JERK!!! BEWARE!!!

I guess those of you who wrote bad reviews just don't communicate that well. Winton is a great guy who cares about his students. He is by far one of the most helpful professors I have ever encountered. Maybe the rest of you shouldn't be so judgmental!

Eh...He's a really nice guy. He really tried to be helpful. He was very lenient with some students on late assignments. I just didn't excel in his class. I don't really like CMM at all. He's very...picky about the outlines, too...I followed the book, but it wasn't enough I guess.

this man has some issues. I, like someone else posting wonder how he is qualified to teach college. He shouldnt be a speech teacher because HE can't speak. Worst speech teacher I have ever had. I guess the advice I have for you is find some common ground to relate to him on and you will be ok.
