Kate is an amazing professor. She has great wit, and is extremely knowledgeable. I'm lucky I got the opportunity to study with her before she left. SCC isn't the same without her.

Uses her own book for a textbook. That's a very bad thing! The topics discussed in her book are less than useless, it's the same impractical drone that one can find in any sophomoric screenwriting text. Really, though - I learned nothing in this class that I didn't know beforehand. Plus she nearly failed me because SHE lost two of my assignments.

Kate gets down to business. She stays on track, only discussing subject matter. I think she is a great teacher. She really inspired me to write, which has always been a roadblock for me.

She knows her stuff but she wont help you out. You either have the gift or the connections to write a movie or you dont. Just turn in all the assigned work on time. No quizzes, final, or midterm.

She was tough sometimes, but she knows her stuff. Screenwriting is her life, this is a boonus. She was often quite fun, good humor! Quite encouraging. One negative - She was biased against one student who became very intimidated by her and dropped the class - I feelwas unfair and this upset me - i came to his defense - I think she was too harsh.
