Dr. Chilcote was an AMAZING teacher! She has rightfully earned internationally respected credentials that make her the best of the best at teaching classical/contemporary rep and musical theatre! Her comsumate command of solid technique and sublime musicality set her apart from the majority of vocal teachers who don't have 1/10th of her talent!

I was an ed. major, vocal/choral (that tells you how old I am, ha!), and Dr. C was my voice teacher during all 4 of my years at WCU. She was always helpful, AND, most importantly, challenged me. Yes, it was difficult - but HELLO, it's HIGHER EDUCATION, it's SUPPOSED TO BE HARD! Well-qualified and a lovely person. Brava!

Kathryn Chilcote is probably the most incredible vocal coach on the faculty at WCU. WCU screwed me all together but Dr. Chilcote always helped keep my head high and proud. I have advanced so far because of her and would recommend her to anyone. Her technical training is impeccable and her skill is more advanced than any other member or that facult

I am a Voice performance major. She helped and guided me through my years at WCU. She is approachable and is always willing to take the time to go over diction and anything else you have problems with(including Aurals and theory) I don't know what I would have done without her.

Dr. Chilcote was my private voice teacher all through my undergrad years at WCU. I came back to studying with her after grad school and am now a professional working singer. She is an AMAZING teacher. I consider her a teacher AND a friend. If you have the opportunity - take voice lessons from her she knows her stuff! -Jen

Dr. Chilcote was the 2nd of 2 teachers that made my experience at the awful West Chester School of music do-able. Thankfully I transfered out of that devil's haven, but I have taken her lessons and her advice with me. One of the best teachers at WCU.

I think she thought I was crazy. I had her for voice class and it just so happened that we were all double reed majors. We were a little too hyper for her taste and she made Jane sit in on a class. She was fair though.
