She came to class late EVERYDAY. We would have 10page lab reports due the same day as our exams. She fell so far behind that we had Two tests on our final. The whole entire class basically failed or dropped out towards the end. She is so picky on grading. She will say "be more specific" then tell you "it was too specific" after you fix it.

Unorganized, late to class, and unprofessional. She fell so behind that we had to take two exams for a final with a lab report due the same day. Questions on the exams are phrased weird and she'll expect the more broad answer versus the more correct (specific) answer. She's also a picky grader so one synonym out of place will cost you points.

Test aren't that hard, but the labs are extremely hard. By the end of her class you'll know how to write a proper lab report and will be prepared to transfer. Expects A LOT out of her students and expects you to put in your full effort. Very hard to get an A, but passing is very doable.

Dr. Nette is an awesome person! I am taking her right now, everyone had told me scary things about her, but you know what? if you study and care to do the work you're assigned then you should be fine! I am planning to get an A in this class, all you need is a good plan and passion. Good luck if you're with taking the class with me this semester!!

THIS IS A VERY HEAVY CLASS!! Lectures were mainly where test questions were from, but don't expect any PPTs to be given. Go to the STEM center for help and ask questions! She is a hard grader, but if you ask questions, she'll help you understand for future assignments. Don't expect to learn everything in the lectures, I suggest reading ahead.

I worked my butt off and got a B+ in the course. She prepared me for the level of difficulty at my University. Advice: Read before class, she provides amazing study guides. She expects you to be able to UNDERSTAND and EXPLAIN the material. Take the lab seriously, work hard she will respect you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She cares!

By far the toughest class I have ever taken. Dr. Nette will grade you without holding anything back, so try your best with the lab reports and study hard for exams. Make sure you pay attention when she explains the labs because it seems it's one of her pet peeves when you make a mistake in lab. READ THE BOOK!!!! It's more helpful than the lectures.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Favors students & is not a fair person. She makes you feel stupid when you ask her questions even though she's SUPPOSED to be there to help you. Took another micro prof after her and he's so much better than how she taught. Don't take this class! Her helper Sam is also rude & favors the pretty girls..

If you want to work hard and receive a c average then take her class. Strict grader, marks even 1/4th points off answers. Worst grader even coming from a/ b students. If choice to pick someone else, save yourself she doesn't care about you.

She discourages rather than encourages. You will dedicate so much time to this one class and you will get grades back that are for someone who doesn't even try. She doesn't post grades. She has very very high expectations for a low div major PREP class. I like her as a person, that's it. Don't take her if you're taking other hard courses.

As a bio major, and a previous honors/AP student in HS, I can attest that this class was probably the heaviest class I've ever taken. Prepare to make this your #1 focus for the semester, but also learn ALOT. Form groups, ASK QUESTIONS... esp about your formal reports. She's not very clear with her comments/grading, but she wants specific info.

Her lectures are horrible. She jumps between chapters and you are tested are things that are not covered yet. She wants you to respect her, but she has no respect for her students. She acts like she is the best and the rests are trash. I would drop her class in first week of semester, if this was not my last semester at Cuyamaca college.

Lab reports and your exams will make up 90% of your grade. She grades heavy on lab reports! (Use the tutoring center starting with 1st lab report!) Anything on the studyguides (do them all) and Powerpoint is fair game on the exam. NOT a terrible teacher!!! Because of what she taught me in this class I got into a lab at UCSD b4 I left cuyamaca. 3

Read the book religiously (Seriously)! Complete the study guides and utilize the powerpoint topics when reading. Lecture is useless. Complete labs early so you have time to study. Go to the writing center as much as you can! Proofread your reports and talk to a tutor. You will evolve as a student by being proactive. I got an A.

As head of the department Nette truly expects greatness from her students. The class is not hard just a lot of work. Lecture aspect is average with essay-heavy tests. Lab involves significant writing for each lab including two formal reports. Online discussion of The Epigenetics Revolution. Take her if you're serious about your education.

Dr. Nette is very nice, however her summer Bio130 class is very hard. Its a lot of information to obtain. Her homework is the study guides that take hours to complete and she does collect them. Her test are very difficult and the wording is difficult to understand as well. She teaches on a university level and it can get very hard at times.
