Comment:

Kathryn is completely disorganized. She provides little instructionbackground to concepts. Expect to teach yourself the content because she doesn't cover the subject or glazes over it. The biggest frustration was she provides few guidelines on assignments. She expects you to read her mind about the hw and then is criticizes when you get it wrong.

Comment:

She likes to use A LOT of expensive books, so be careful! I have taken 2 classes with her & both classes required about 4-5 textbooks. Also hard to get in touch with sometimes & does not always respond to emails. Classes are an extremely heavy work load, but much of it is busy work and annoying. Grades easy though as long as you do the work.

Very laid back, but muddled lectures. Hard to understand in most cases. Class notes and additional clarification of projects are not her greatest strength, even when pressed for details.

Comment:

This class was a good overview of English Literature, covering primarily the Victorian era, with some in the Romantic and Modern. Dr. Summers is friendly and knowldegeable. She encouraged people to participate and is patient enough to never yell at the two girls in the back of class who insisted on talking and surfing the internet every class.
