Comment:

Sarfo has become one of my favorite professors at York! Although his lectures (done on an old projector) can be a tad boring, he's really a nice guy and is very knowledgeable about almost everything in his field. As long as you study and pay attention to his lectures, you'll be fine. Attendance is mandatory! If you skip a class, you're screwed!

Talks all class. Still uses a projector and clear sheets to "teach" but all he does is read off the slides, repeats what he just said, and explains nothing that he says. The slides are written in sentence format, no bulleted lists unless it's required, so there's a lot of extra information. His english isn't perfect, so there's confusing sentences.

All he does in talk in class. All grading is based on 5 exams. Teaches on an overhead. But if you type your notes and do flash cards, you'll pass easily. Make sure you attend class.

Amazing class. All the people here who said they did poorly are lame-- Dr. Sarfo gives you notes WORD FOR WORD and even tell you what he will ask about on every test. Never scored below a 94% on each exam. All you have to do is come to class, take notes, and memorize what he tells you-- Bam, 4.0.

I find it very difficult to find nice words to say about this man. Rude, disrespectful, not a help at all, will not answer emails. Dr. Sarfo has no business teaching because he does not care about the students. I was a 5th year senior when taking this class, had very good track record with passed professors. This man was evil. DO NOT TAKE

Classes are taught on an overhead projector, so if you aren't in class to take the notes yourself and don't know anyone in the class- you're screwed. Tests are on THE MOST MINUTE details (some of which were only mentioned during a single mini-lecture so pay attention to everything!)

He gives you the notes and thats exactly what the test is. All his tests for global issues were multiple choice. All you have to do is read your notes and you'll pass the test. Definitely take this class.

Literally the worst class I've ever taken. He makes rude and insulting jokes about the class the entire period, especially if someone asks for clarification. He uses outdated hand written overhead projection sheets, and if you go to office hours for help he will tell you he is busy grading, and not help you, repeatedly.

He gives 5 tests and that's all there is to the class. No homework, no assignments, just tests. Each test is 50 questions and he tells you exactly what to study. The lectures are full of notes, so bring your laptop. I averages a B on tests, but he adds 10% to your grade if you attend every class.

No ability to teach. Still in the ice ages, uses overhead projector and original notes from his first year at college. Total lecture and no enhancements for cultural clarity. No moddle, no response to emails, refuses to help. I had a family member funeral to attend, was told me that I would fail the test for that day if I did not attend class

If you just need an easy elective to get through, then this is for you. I have an A with a newborn at home. But if that's not your top priority don't take it. You literally just copy notes for 50 minutes. Don't buy the textbook and he's not helpful if you have questions, stick to notes.

Dr. Sarfo is very nice. Book is not necessary for class. Tests are strictly from notes given in class. Recommend bringing laptoptablet to type notes up, it's a LOT to write. Gives study guides before tests, but recommend studying all material covered. Mandatory attendance. Very Funny, intellectual, awesome prof. DEFINTELY RECOMMEND!

Professor Sarfo is a brilliant man, and passionate about what he teaches! The class is a breeze, strictly notes and then tests, and he outlines for you exactly what will be on the test. Boring class. You copy his hand written notes off the overhead every class all semester. Hard to understand.
